First the 'super fight': Such a fight with GSP vs Silva, I don't believe will happen. The reach, the size, the weight.. it would be too much for George. The 'super fight' should be Silva Vs Jones. Its makes more sense and JJ atleast has a chance.
Agreed. The only way it would even be reasonably fair is if they fought at 177 (Silva fought at 175 in 2006) and then capped the walk-in weight at 190.
Does anyone think Silva wouldn't have finished GSP if he caught him with the head kick like Condit did in the 3rd? I'm pretty sure he would have picked GSP apart and won via (T)KO within 20 seconds of landing the kick.
Second the GSP - Condit fight: How could you not be impressed? Jesus GSP has had 18 months off, and just went 5rds with one of the best in the division. So George went to the ground a lot, he is a fantastic grappler. KOS fights the exact way, shoots in with lightning speed, and forms a human blanket. For that people praise Kos. This is MMA, not boxing, so don't expect every fighter to finish like Hendricks.
Totally agree. GSP did what he needed to do to win after the long layoff and when
all of the pressure was on him. As always, why does no one seem to ask why Condit (or any of the other challengers) can't stop the takedown, get up, sub or otherwise hurt GSP? St. Pierre controls where the fight is and imposes his will on his opponent - and there's not a damn thing they can do about it.
I know what you're saying, but KOS is not even close to GSP - and few people praise him... fact is, he's given credit simply because he had NO striking skills before and during TUF1, so his improvement is noteworthy, I suppose.
Third is 'the fix' - Now this I will agree on. Not in this fight, but in others. Couple examples
1) Nick Diaz-Carlos Condit - I felt Nick won that fight, was picking apart Condit, and he should have fought GSP last Sat.
2) Sonnen-Bisping - I like Chael, but he did not win that fight, nor earn a 2nd shot at Silva. I was turned right off by that call. I know Clay Guida has been ripped off in fights too.
Sorry, can't agree with you here. Neither does Fight Metric. The fights were close, but hardly "robberies" and definitely not "fixes."
Diaz-Condit:

Condit controlled the distance, moved and struck and was barely touched by Diaz, whose only plan was to move straight ahead and throw punches in bunches. When CC sidestepped, Nick D didn't have a backup plan -
that was his undoing and why he lost. Condit controlled the angles and the fight, even if Diaz was the one moving forward.
Sonnen-Bisping:
http://blog.fightmetric.com/2012/01/sonnen-vs-bisping-official-ufc.html#more
Sonnen didn't look dominant, but Bisping is actually kinda underrated. Sonnen landed more strikes and still took Bisping down multiple times. Close, but not a travesty...
Clay Guida - which fight(s) was he robbed in?

Moving onto GSP against Nick Diaz in the Spring would be good. Nick has incredible ground, and super reach. Hendricks would also be fun, and could be another Serra KO.
I think Diaz should have to earn a title shot. Some might say Hendricks
has earned a shot. Diaz vs. Hendricks in a #1 contender eliminator in early 2013? (since Hendricks' fight lasted all of 46 seconds) Also gives GSP time to rest and heal up and decide if he wants to go on the Silva suicide mission...
