Another important point as well...I'm a Packer fan and I agree. But up to this point they were winning 12-7 and this call was blown big time. They missed a clear offensive pass interference by the Seattle receiver then they failed to see (2nd time through replay) that the GB defender caught the ball in the end zone and the Seattle receiver partially stripped it out.
On the Seahawks 2nd last drive which ended on a turnover on downs after Capers checked to an all-out blitz and the Seahawks had no route-distribution and Wilson's pass was incomplete that drive was aided by two bad calls. The first play of that drive the INT by McMillan was negated by a roughing the passer penalty on Walden . It was a bad call and GB would have had the ball with a 12-7 lead deep in SEA territory. Later in that drive on a 1st and forever after a couple of SEA holding calls Shields was called for DPI on a deep pass to Rice where it was in fact Rice that should have been called for OPI. Now some will argue that the DPI on Shields doesnt matter because the drive didnt result in points. I dont agree. That bad call effects field position. GB had to be conservative with their play-calling after the SEA turnover on downs due to where their drive was starting and it ended in a 3-and-out. Then SEA's final drive started in plus territory. Its hard not to say that the aforementioned penalties didnt contribute to that - and as we know that final drive did end up with points.
