http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2012/09/20/apples-ios-6-maps-app-is-awful-and-now-world-knows-it/

People who have been using beta versions of iOS 6 for the past few months have known how awful Apple’s (AAPL) new Maps app is, but for the most part they held out hope that the company would make some serious refinements by the time its new iOS 6 software was released to the public. But iOS 6 officially took flight on Wednesday and sadly, Apple’s new Maps app is still awful.
An unsightly blemish on what is otherwise a beautiful OS, Apple’s new Maps application is enraging users. Google Maps wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but Google (GOOG) has spent many years and boatloads of money creating its mapping experience. The result is a fantastic product that iOS users had taken for granted. Until now.

Hmm...guess Google has no worries.

I updated my iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6 on Wednesday as soon as it was released and one thing I must say the mapping system on iOS 6 is a big big improvement compared to the google maps that was available before. Yes they did remove the option of choosing the mode of transportation whether its driving, walking or public transportation. But that's not a problem cause with the over 700,000 apps available in the App Store there is a App called Transit that complements the mapping system very well. The transition in the map when your scrolling along in the map is amazing compared to the google map which had the big time lag when loading the next area in the map plus with fly by top and ground view of locations is very amazing. I and many others were never impressed with the google maps as soon as my friends got the iOS 6 on there iPhones we were all very impressed with the mapping system apple came out with.
With over 200 improvements from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6 it's the best iOS system yet and it's keep getting better

Hmmm...you must be special....Or an Apple salesman perhaps?
I'm virtually certain you won't find any other Apple fans sharing you views that Apple Maps is a big big improvement over the MUCH LOVED Google Maps.

Apple Map Fails: 19 Ridiculous Glitches Spotted In Apple iOS 6's Anti-Google App (PICTURES)

Apple's software upgrades are usually welcomed with much hullabaloo. iOS 6 was treated no differently, until (cue horror music) the company announced that its new mobile operating system would no longer feature a baked-in version of Google Maps.

So when iOS 6 was finally released to the public, you can imagine the disappointment of many Apple fans as they realized that Apple's new Maps app, powered by TomTom technology, can be pretty ridiculously horrible. In fact, the new service has been so poorly received, there's now a Tumblr blog devoted to documenting Apple's mapping fails.

How bad could the app be, you ask? Here're a few examples: Well-known cities have been wiped from the map, buildings have disappeared; potentially awesome graphics often appear blurry or warped; and, sometimes, the wrong location data is displayed for entire countries (tough break, Japan).

Check out 19 of the most absurd Apple Maps app fails below. Have you used the new app? Can you find your hometown, or have the places you frequent vanished into digital air? Let us know if you spot any other comical mistakes in the comments section below, tweet at us (@HuffPostTech), or upload your own fails to our slideshow (using the "Add a slide" button) for a chance to be featured right here.

Make sure you check out some of the hilarious images from Apple maps on the slide show bottom of page of above link.
here is another site devoted to some images http://theamazingios6maps.tumblr.com/

Hate to say it, but I think you put your "little foot" in your mouth ;)

Big Deal!

Are there no mistakes or glitches in Google and how long has it been up and running. Remember Perly's and MapArt, used them for years, and there were always errors.

Desperate thread.

Desperate thread.
I know Apple lovers do not like adverse publicity that highlights worms in their Apple image.

I like the threads and find the Apple diehards reactions very interesting. Just how bad does Apple have to be before a diehard stops making ludicrous excuses for technical faults - instantaneous combustion of his iPhone perhaps ?

It's funny how perceptions change. I use to look at iPhone owners as tech savvy - now I view iPhone 5 users more as members of a religious sect like Scientology.

You'd think all the Android fans who are pro-innovation, pro-competition (at least, based on what they post) would welcome some competition where Google holds a monopoly.

Guess not.

Nice of you to skip over the rest of my post, which was the main point.

You must be reading a different thread. I see a thread about the issues with the new apple maps software. I don't see any mention that it should be disposed of.

And, yet, I see you still keep ducking my question as to whether or not you were the one who said that you could not be bothered to call around for an cellphone repair shop to change your iPhone's battery.

Agreed. But we both know that's not the agenda of most of the posters here.

On a side note, the world finds out Apple's been working on 3D maps. Google goes into overdrive and adds the functionality. I'm sure more to come as Apple gets better.

Maybe so, but apple genuinely deserves scorn for this. An app this important should be much better. It would be nice to see some of the apple devotees actually be critical of apple when they deserve it rather than lash out with negative statements about the competition.

I would be FUCKIN PISSED if I would have bought that trash. Apple doesn't even have the balls to tell it's customers they are selling a defective product? They didn't know? Fuck them! I use MAPS for my job and I've used my Android Google Maps with voice to text and voice directions for 2 years with no problems. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE. So when will the class action lawsuit start?

It's hard to be have a thoughtful, critical discussion in a toxic environment. It's sad, really. Discussion on mobile devices online is rapidly dissolving into a Red vs Blue shtick.

Then let them hate. It's because of the blind obedience of many apple fans that breeds it.
Oh, come on. Many Android fanatics are equally obnoxious. Both sides somehow equate their personal identity with their purchases and try to shove it down everyone's throat.
