A's just took a series from the Yanks and apparently have kick ass pitching this year. Should be interesting.
I think the Jays softened up the Yanks for Oakland.

Over the last month (30 games) Kelly Johnson is hitting .183 with 36 strikeouts?

WTF?

Look on the bright side. He's a FA after this season, so if the Jays let him walk then you we can say it's no big loss. He is likely still the best 2B that will be available next year (Cano will have his option picked up) so his asking price can only go down. So, if he does get resigned (which I think is still a good possibility especially if Escobar moves) we could end up with a steal (at say $5m/year range) if he ever gets back to a .270 hitter, 20 HR, 60 RBI and 15+ steals mark next year.

Adam Lind is hitting well again. Let's put him back at 1B. Never be satisfied with the status quo, always try to improve.

Why?

E.E.E. plays a fine defensive 1st base.

I didn't have a problem with them taking Cecil out. He pitched well but 6 innings is about it for him. I could not believe Beck as the choice in a winnable game. He friggin near blew a lead in Boston. That bullpen was fresh after yesterdays day off. Had to be better pitchers available. Frig they may as well kept Cordero.

Painful to watch Romero through the first 1 and a bit innings. No change up, no out pitch. The #9 hitter was allowed to foul off pitch after pitch wo Romero putting him away.

Romero terrible again tonight. Taken out in the second innings replaced by Beck who wasn't much better. This is against the team with the weakest batting record!

Romero is close to useless, but there is no-one to replace him wo further weakening the already awful pen.

What a pitiful performance. Cant' just blame the pitchers...where are the bats? This team looks more like cellar dwellers than ever. Hard to believe they sacked Bosox 3 straight

Jays down by two converted touchdowns in the 8th. JP Arencibia out with a broken hand. I agree with Zaun: sell!

Well, Oakland has hot pitching and that could explain the lack of bats. But our own pitching performance has been just shameful. I agree. Sell off and stock up on prospects. It's time to start thinking about 2013.

The Jays don't have that much to 'sell'.

Darren Oliver
Rajai Davis
Kelly Johnson
Brandon Lyon

Anyone else?

This season is a write-off. They don't even play weekend games in the evenings so I can watch them on TV. Let's be fair to Bautista and trade him to a contender. He is wasting the best years of his life here. Where is Shea Hillebrand?

Adam Lind
Travis Snider
Yunel Escobar
J P Arencebia (before the injury)

I'm not sure they would make Oliver available as he and Jansen are about it for quality experienced relievers.

Yes.

Romero.

They can probably get a lifetime minor leaguer for him... if they are lucky.

AA should have taken my advice earlier on this thread and sent him to a shrink! :eyebrows:

And I will now say what I have been thinking about for a while but did not want to say before: the only reasonable explanation I can think of for all these pitcher injuries and the team's supremely inconsistent performance is the manager!!!!
