For safety its best to use the Stephen Harper robocall method.
use a proxy server
(the conservatives like freeproxyserver.ca in Saskatchewan, its canadian and it writes over all records every couple of weeks, which is faster then a court order)
use burner phones
(the conservatives favour 7/11 speakout)
use prepaid credit cards
(the conservatives prefer shoppers drug mart, even best is to buy a couple from opposite ends of the city)
make sure you're friendly with the mods
(so they can delete logs if need be)

You only need to worry about being hacked if you loose important information. There's nothing remotely useful in my TERB profile so hack away...
LKD makes more sense with his response. I am sorry that most of you misunderstand where I go with my question. Maybe I should have used the word embedded into your computer? I scare of no one if I get caught in the act of playing around on terb. But, I feel scare if someone CAN virtually access my comp via online public places.
I was joking. If you are worried about your computer dont use the internet - nothing, not google, not email, nothing, keep it shut down and you will be fine.

Probably not via TERB, but just being online opens you up to possible hackers.
mynameisearl11 whoever you're using as an ISP has every record of your whereabouts, if you've been a really bad boy, the police currently can get the records of your whereabouts this may change in the future where they don't need papers to get the info if/when the bill is passed.
anything in printed form including the internet is traceable, there are some highly paid online forensic auditors/detectives around ...if you have access to your ISP's system you have a chance at anonymitiy or being able to erase your tracks...

Depends on what you do or don't do. If you are careful you should be safe, if you aren't then there are risks. So safety depends on you and ymmv from what others get depending on how you behave before, during and after.

If that was your question:
-The odds of your computer getting hijacked here are about the same as it getting hijacked on any site that allows user content on the 'legit web'.
-The odds of your computer getting hijacked here is less than by going to dodgy porn sites, or from downloading or streaming software or media from dodgy pirate sites / file trading sites / or anything peer-2-peer.
That's as simple as I can make it.
