Ok then, bring an invincible goalie to the leafs that allows nothing. Leafs are then 1st place in the standings, and win the stanley cup.

I been trying to tell you, but you don't seem to get it. If we don't fix out d issue, the same new goalie we bring in it's going to suffer the same consequences. I don't know how to explain it to you anymore. watch some leafs videos on the goals that we give up.

Don't you get the point that our players sux on D? Even if we have an elite goalie, we provide clear path for opposing forwards on a night to night basis. You still expect your invincible goalie to stop most of them?

If you say yes, end of story. I am done.

Congratulation to the Toronto Maple Leafs fans. After months of taunting, selectively posting scores only to shamefully stop towards the end of the season, your team has finished a full 2 points ahead of Montreal. Wow, 2 whole points!!! What an accomplishment!!!!!

What mistake did I make? The only mistake that I see is you think your theory is right and mines is wrong. I respect your opinions, but to say I made a mistake is just ludicrous.

lol

As opposed to the Montreal fans who were so quiet all season, well of course until now.
I do not know what kind of idiots you hang out with, but bragging about the latest loss by your favorite team does not seem intelligent ... but then look at who is yakking about Leaf fans.

I have been here through the good(before Feb) and bad(since Feb 1).
Where were you during the first half of the season ?

And 2 points ahead is better then 2 points behind.

How is the circus there ?
Has the idiot owner opened his mouth again to get the hockey world laughing again ?
Oh you Montreal fans were pretty damn quiet during all that, but now when the Leafs have slipped there you typically are ready to pounce, but only when it is clearly safe to do so.

Can you explain how that joke of a franchise, the New York Islanders, finished ahead of Montreal ?

Kirmit, you are so pathetic and so very easily predictable.

Charles, Charles ... it is over. You win.

Leafs suck. They are the worst team to ever lace up skates. It is not the goalies fault, it is the rest of the team.
It is clear Reimer and Gustavsson would be Vezina Trophy winners on almost any other team.

Make sure you do not answer any questions.

Sarcasm can be such a nasty thing.

Ironhead you omitted Scrivens, I think he resembles your remark!

Scrivens is the goalie they Leafs will keep, because Gustavsson(FA) will be signed by a contending team, a team that gets knocked out in the semi's and they will think Gustavsson will get us over the hump.
Reimer will so sought after that the Leafs will get a first rounder, a young stud and a current top six forward for him.

Is that not obvious to you ?

Most of us like to debate, do some give and take, but as you say some people just cannot stray one iota from their point and must always get the last word in. Those are the people that are best ignored since you can't have a reasonable discussion with them because they are so dogmatic. They take away the pleasure of a good debate. Let them discuss things by themselves.

It's clearly obvious a team will be better with good goaltending. How much is what is up up for debate. Because it is a hypothetical situation no one can say for sure whether a particular change would be enough to clear a particular hurdle. You can have your personal beliefs, but nobody knows for sure. It should not be hard for anybody to accept that irrefutable concept unless they are a stubborn dickhead.

Kirmit, you are so pathetic and so very easily predictable.
We were so quiet, except for one person, coz we knew our position. Notice that we did not post scores when Toronto was sinking faster than Montreal. We could have since there is a difference between starting poor, staying quiet and remaining poor as opposed to starting decent, taunting, posting selective scores, telling people to bank on Toronto making the playoffs and Montreal not, only to go on a free fall worst than Montreal and finishing ahead by only two points. That's like someone finishing 3rd worst making fun of someone finishing 2nd worst. Talent wise, it could have easily been the other way around. Know your team better before doing anything stupid. (That's for every Leafs fan who were counting their chickens before they are hatched)

Notice that I do not post regularly even when Montreal was first overall in the conference a few years back or when Montreal makes the playoffs and Toronto does not. I just find it laughable the behavior of some fans when their team is no better than Montreal. How about just admitting that you guys put a deposit on a house before securing the mortgage and embarrassed yourselves. Or admitting that we could have made fun of you guys as well but did not. Instead, you go on the offensive and still do not get the point.

Clueless, arrogant and stubborn... A pathetic person calling someone else pathetic... again, shameless!!

I don't mean to step in again, but for some reason I feel my words are being misconstrued. I have never said a better goalie won't help the leafs. My whole point is, leafs have to prioritize on getting better defencemen.

Everyone wants to put the blame on the goalie. Yes, sometimes goalie give up soft goals. Haven't you guyz forgot last year when Reimer made that run in the 2nd half? I don't see anybody say at that time goalie was a problem.

Look at these stats:

James Reimer:
2010-2011: 20-10 2.60 GAA, .921%
2011-2012 14-14 3.10 GAA, .900%

Do you guyz notice any difference? So is this just soley on the goalie's fault?

I'm not trying to argue the point having a goalie won't make us better. I've been advocating a major debacle on the leafs D.
Our defencemen are not doing a very good job on our end to support the goalie.

There is a correlation on why both Halak and Elliot has play so well this year. Elliot is a crappy backup goalie before he came to st louis. If you have watch some of those games the blues have played, they play outstanding defence. Neither Halak or Elliot has to work very hard or put up constant pressure throughout the entire game. Of course their stats look sexy.

So ya, if some of you guyz here on terb think an elite goalie will save the leafs ass, I got nothing to say. I will take it as it is. I just think if we don't correct our problem on D, it won't make that much of a difference.

And if you guyz really want a better goalie, you got Brian Burke to blame for locking up all these overpaid contracts. We won't have room to support or sign an elite goalie.

On the highway of life
I gave up on the Leafs a month ago and turned my attention to the future Leafs playing for the Marlies and Reading Royals. Reading plays game 5 of their first round series with Elmira tomorrow night at 7. Mark Owuya is quite possibly the Leafs goalie of the future. Then again, so were Pogge and Reimer.

Somehow this relates to buying a house ... of course people, Leafs fan or Sens fans or Montreal fans would so foolish when it comes to real life.

That was a great analogy Kirmit. :thumb:

You really are stupid Kirmit. I did not think so before, but now ...

I hope you are sitting down for this one ...
This is TERB ... do not take anything too serious.

Leafs were going so well, I thought they were going to make it. I made a prediction.
I cannot remember if you were one of them, but some Leaf haters also thought the Leafs would make the playoffs, but instead of being happy they were doing the five year old taunt (paraphrasing) 'The Leafs will make the playoffs, but they will be eliminated four straight', so Leafs fans were not the only one's thinking the Leafs were in.

You have a nice day Kirmmy.

You are being clearly understood, but it is you who started the goalie thing and are now softening the original statement a bit. You do not answer questions, nor do you acknowledge anyone message(s).

I acknowledge the fact you guyz suggested a better goalie is needed. It's quite possible we could make the playoffs with an elite goalie. That is understood by me. I just feel its more important to correct the problem our on D core first before tackling the goalie issue.

I feel the D we are supporting the goalie on this leafs team, even with an elite goalie, he will have horrible stats. Might get us a few extra wins.
