I know 1.8 doesn't sound like much, but in a day and of age of salary caps and the prospect of the cap staying put or declining slightly, that small salary, if not part of a two way contract, could eat into the bottom line. He better work out or they have two more years of dead weight.

Kessel is lost without Lupol and the new system from the coach is not working. NO MORE PLAYOFF HOCKEY IN TORONTO FOREVER>

It may effect the bottom line slightly in the overall picture of the operation of the club, but it would not effect the Cap if they deemed him a bust and sent him down. He would be off the NHL roster.

Unless of course the rules change (as is being proposed by G.M.'s of poorer clubs) to prevent or discourage richer teams from burying bad contracts in the minors.

Oh great. There is a dangerous prescient, let the weak teams dictate the direction the league goes.
That could be a problem as I can see Bettman listening because he wants those US markets to work. One thing McCown(FAN 590) has correct is that Bettman does like to do the 'look at what I have in my right hand, nevermind what is in my left hand'.

Let the weak teams run the league, that should put the Leafs in control. The league will make a lot of money the seats will be full and there will never be any playoff games.

If the Leafs ran the league . All teams would make the playoffs or all teams with the letter T in their Cities get 1st round bye in the playoffs

Damn February. Eight points out now. If the 2011/12 season is not dead yet, it is only a matter of time.

I hope Burke takes another run at Nash in the off season, well of course he will. I hope he lands him.
They management team should be looking for a goalie for next year now. Sign Gustavsson and trade him for whatever they can get for him soon or just let him go. Whatever they decide to do with Gustavsson I want to see it taken care of soonest.

Summer priorities;
- Get Nash
- Goaltending
- Big, number one center

every time I put the game back on they're down another goal. I'm starting to wonder if they're EVER gonna win another game , much less see the playoffs again.

They should rename the team to HOOVER, 'cause they SUCK!

Yikes........Is it me or does Reimer seem out of sinc alot.

He doesn't resemble at all the same goalie from the end of last year.

On the bright side I like this kid Ashton.

I had such high hopes for Reimer at the beginning of the season...

But after the hit from Gionta he hasn't been the same again....

He's such a great kid but he seems to have lost his groove....I really hope he can find it again but I have a bad feeling he may be done....
