Would you abort a son or daughter if you knew they would be gay?

I voted yes. I don't know how much exposure to the gay lifestyle the people who voted 'no' have had, but I know two gay men, both in their thirties. One was a friend, the other an aquaintence. The aquaintence is dying from Aids and I'm sure the other one will. One told me many stories of their sexual exploits, all unprotected sex, anal and oral. He knows the risks but doesn't care about safety. Very sad and pathetic. I wouldn't want my son to have that lifestyle.
I think that you are forgetting about the approximately 15% of terbites who are actually 14 year old boys masquerading on this board as hobbyists. To them being gay is still a huge deal. Your original question is offensive. Get a life and start questioning some bigger issues.
Yes, but one act is illegal and one is not. If we discover that murder is genetically determined it doesn't mean we will legalize it. In fact, to my mind, genetic determinism could lead to harsher sentences.
And, for fairly obvious reasons, the theory behind the biological evolution of homosexuality is fairly complex.
Last weekend I kicked a guy out of my house because he repeatedly told a gay friend of mine that if he was his parents he would shoot himself. I felt so bad for my friend who just stood there and took it. There was no way that I was going to let that happen, especially in my house. It took about 15 minutes to get him out of my house(very peacefully). After he had finally left my gay friend came up to me and thanked me, it was the best part of the night.
good for you..so many times incidents like this are ignored or people turn their backs....we need more people like you in today's society..
I am absolutely shocked at the number of people who have come down on me in this thread, if just for wondering how many people would do it. Just for the thought, or for the mere thinking of it, I'm a lesser human being, or I'm psychotic, or something.
I wonder if, 500 years ago, someone who questioned whether people would go for abortion, would have gotten stoned to death.
I wonder if, 200 years ago, someone who questioned whether slaves should be owned by another human being, would have been stoned to death.

Considering the civil rights movement was only in the 60s. Going back 200 to 500 would get you into some pretty hardheaded people. Hell wasn't the astronomer who claimed the Earth was not hte centre of the universe locked in a tower? He got off light..... compared to people who were suspected of being a witch.

You don't have to think like others. All you had to do was word your question differently. For example "IF genetic screening could test for any trait then should parents be able to abort a child at their discretion."
There are two problems here
1) You fail to see that you made a mistake and think everyone else is fucked up
2) You can't deal with the fact that people disagreeed with you. Why put out a poll if you only wanted support? What you didn't think there would be any controversy?
