Douche Bag professions.

Seriously though. I watched a news story on vets recently and I was appalled at the discrepancy in pricing. The reporter went to 3 or 4 different vets for the same mess and was quoted prices of $60.00 to $120.00 for the exact same drug.
Worse....lobbyists, and the politicians that pander to them.
Maybe drug companies too...
I realize you are quoting medication costs but the fact is that not all DVM's are the same and that is what one is paying for.
You can choose to go to a 'no frills' clinic with a Dr. that hasn't specialized in anything or you can go to a clinic with a specialist, a lot of in house equipment, etc. When you go to a clinic you are not just paying for the services you had that day but you are covering the overhead and training the staff have required (gotta pay off those student loans) and these costs vary greatly from clinic to clinic eg. a clinic in Thunder Bay may pay less for a building, taxes, services, etc. than a clinic in downtown Toronto. This is just basic business so if you choose to go to a clinic where your vet trained at Cornell for several years (approx. $30-45K/yr) completed an Avian specialty or perhaps is a surgical specialist with a lot of additional speciality equipment in house then you will pay more, if you go to a clinic where your Dr. completed their training at Guelph, went straight into a very small rural practice without investing in a lot of specialty equipment you will generally pay less. The variation is no different than what we see with other professional practices, I can find a lawyer for a few hundred dollars or I can go to Heenan Blaikie where I will likely pay more, it really depends on my needs which I'll choose.

Large animal vets who service the agriculture industry ensuring herd health for beef and dairy particularly, are the most honest bunch of doctors one could find. Living and working in rural areas, where farmers talk amongst themselves, comparing prices and practices, does not leave a lot of room for these folks to screw their customers. if they did they wouldnt have a business for very long. I have considerable respect for these guys and gals who keep our food supply healthy.

One such vet who at one time came out to our farm to check our equines, was asked by my wife to have a quick peek at our dogs skin condition. After a quick check he commented, "it's cancerous..your dog is getting older, you could spend thousands in treatments and trips to Guelph, but you would be better of shooting him." My kind of vet. Most small animals vets would have milked that sort of situation for everything they could

He told you to shoot the dog? Not humane, inexpensive euthanasia, but shoot your poor old dog?

Nice.

of course you do get what you pay for, however the meds in question were a repeat prescription bought monthly. The reporter merely took the prescription to 3 or 4 vets, and got wildly different prices. The purpose of the article was to inform viewers to shop around when it came to vets, and drugs for pets.

Try again. You 'claimed' he was fondling girls.

Of course not actual evidence as had the girls told you of this you would have jumped at the chance to claim that as well.

You really have trouble reading and understanding english.
he grabbed girls' asses in front of the whole class
I am not sure whether it qualifies as a latent or actual pedophile.
hope that helps

That definitely makes him a jerk, but it a long way from pedophile. you really are hilarious. you from a claim to settling for 'I'm not sure.'

Are high school wrestlers gay or lesbians because they put their hands on the ass of their opponents? do they reallly get warm when they put their arms around the other wrestler when they put a bear hug on them? How about wrestling coaches as they do it quite a bit as well. Do basketball coaches cop feelies when they hug their players?

don't forget dentists...they love to pad the bill, especially if you have benefit coverage.
All dentists? How much do you think they should charge? If your that certain and want to eliminate the rip offs, go the cllee and have student do the work. I understand their rates are cheap.

In persuading people to buy things they don't need, with money they don't have in order to impress those who don't care, advertising is one of the most douchebaggiest industries.

Agreed, except perhaps for the beer advertisers, children's advertisers, pharmaceutical advertisers, political advertisers...

Researchers suggest advertising media may adversely impact women's body image, which can lead to unhealthy behavior

If you have insurance coverage, dentists all charge the same set rates.
Not so. Last year I changed dentist, for the first time in 30 years, for reasons of convenience, and the new one charges less on a number of procedures. i've even been able to negotiate/massage some of the charges. I'm not too worried about taking money out of his pocket.

You've painted all vets based on the comments of one. Some might think you're the douche. There are vets that do amazing work for animals and don't do it for the money. They do it for the love of animals.
NOT ANYMORE

I have yet to see a vet in the past decade who was not overcharging. Everyone I know has a $500, 000 - $700, 000 home and damn near double that in their vet office. They regularly overcharge, I speak from experience.

If you don't see a difference between a male coach grabbing asses of female students and a basketball coach hugging his players then I must put you on ignore. Ciao!

I hope your insurer is properly grateful
