Men are like putty in women's hands.

As a guy, you will never outmanoeuvre them in a social context, and they can have endless fun pursuing their own agendas. Maybe this is her way of getting revenge for some incident involving some other person a long time ago. Maybe she has a jealous boyfriend, and likes teasing him. Maybe she spent too long in the Women's Studies department at university. As a guy, you will never know the back story. Legally, you will be labelled a stalker if you attempt to find out.

Just keep your eyes and mind on business at work, and ignore everything else.

I think it is inappropriate that you mentionned Rosens. Without sufficient evidence you were criticizing a local haberdashery. While free speech is a human right in Canada, I think you certainly overstepped the bounds this time and could be subject to a significant liable action??

This sounds like bullshit, and I think you should follow the above advice to get the precise nature of the complaint and consider filing a complaint of your own re hostile work environment. It has possibly damaged your reputation and you need to protect that.

Its bullshit to have to do this kind of shit, but I find with harassment complaints, the decision goes to whomever is more tenacious and willing to push hardest and file the most paper.

Also, you need to make it clear that because of the nature of the complaint and the fact that you do not understand her issue, you require the complaint in writing, and suggest that she have no further communication with you without a 3rd party present, for her own peace of mind and well-being. (Assuming you're more valuable to the company than this receptionist). Otherwise do not speak or communicate with her in any way.
Excellent advice.

The whole scenario sounds innocous enough to me; she seems to be overly sensitive and/or an attention-monger.

Poorboy, you've gotten excellent and free legal advice from RLD, you can either take it, get a second opinion, or just refuse to let go of this situation until it has really escalated.

Maybe she really likes you and this is her way of getting your attention. Women will do that sort of thing even to the point of making an issue out of nothing, if they want attention. I actually saw this entire scenario in a foreign language film so i'm not the only one who has this idea about women.

He just doesn't realize that grabbing his package and gyrating his hips is inappropriate behavior. Someone should tell him.

you should not talk to fat women unless you absolutely need to
Ok afterhours, I am offended. That was unnecessary. I know I'm fat, and you didn't need to talk to me, but posting in an open forum, us fatties do know how to read.

I know you won't end up in my bed, and personally I am thankful for that.

I don't believe it was directed at you or anyone in particular, so don't take it so personally.

Starting a counter offensive over this is a great way to dead end your career at the company. Do you really want to be known as that guy?

After the lecture just say, "I have a different perception of those events, but I understand what you are saying." Then shut up and go back to work.

And stay away from that person.
I third this as good advice.

I'd add to this excellent advice that if you end up interacting her due to work, document it. Same if she approaches you unexpectedly.

I remember a couple of the women I worked with commenting how darn good looking a new male employee was. I thought, if this was reversed those witchs would have me in deep crap. That's the way it is.

I think she's slightly mental

OK. Here's another incident that happened today.

I went looking for a 3 hole punch, and couldn't find it, so I borrowed the one near this ladies department. 15 minutes later, my manager comes by with another 3 hole punch and asks to trade. I say sure and trade him hole punches. Then he chuckles and walks away.

That woman probably went directly to the manager and complained I took the hole punch and my manager probably spent 15 minutes searching the office to find another hole punch to trade me.

I think this woman has a slight disorder or nothing to do.

Your boss sided with the secretary. This is a bad sign. You and your boss suppose to be a team and operate as one.

It is best to look for another job now.

I like this but this also puts a lot of pressure on the company, and some people may not like to piss off their boss. If the accused requires the complaint in writing, he will have to put THAT in writing too.

It is time to cover your ass. ( metaphorically speaking ) If your ass really is bare, you should cover it anyways. Document every incident, take note of witnesses, get written copies of complaints. Get copies of complaints that she has made against other people. Take note of incidents that might go to prove that this woman is not stable. Get statements from management and co-workers. This could cost you big if you do not prepare. Imagine being out on your ass in a recession?
