I'm there and NYC a lot for bookings and I find both cities to be very friendly. And not just men. haha. Even the ladies I find are nice and will help you out if you ask a question for directions or whatnot. Now NYC cabbies, on the other hand...at least for the States, it's Boston hands down!
Have to agree with you about Boston, have been many places in the US and I think the people in Boston are friendliest. That is not to say any of the other places were not friendly, Boston just moreso.at least for the States, it's Boston hands down! .. I read an early comment about London .. Londoners are just reserved where as the Scots are a friendly bunch of folks.

I got pulled over when I first moved to Montreal and the cop refused to speak a word of English to me. I had no clue what he was talking about. No amount of charm or cleavage was getting me out of that ticket! haha
