This year is the first truly "Brian Burke" edition of the Leafs (except Mitchell, Finger and Kaberle). Last year (which was his real first season) was spent in trying to get rid of the chaff which he accomplished (except the aforementioned). I love how all the naysayers already wanted Burkie's head last and now are jumping on the bandwagon. Love him or hate him, you've got to respect Burke. He has a vision and conviction of how to win the cup which we haven't seen in Leaf land since...?

Well it should not have counted, but those are the breaks a team gets once in a while during the season.
Giggy was interfered with on the Florida goal and there were several glaring penalties that the Panthers got away with the Leafs just capitalized on their break. It evens out in the end.
Exactly! We got robbed of a game earlier this season already against the NY Islanders and that night i remember saying, we will get a point or 2 for getting robbed of this one... there ya go, only a few days later we get it, what comes around goes around

Also you just knew Seguin was going to score and as much as I wanted Kessel to score I knew he would not.
At least that is the way I felt earlier today.
The Bruins have to protect a potential lottery pick, they will always play strong against the Leafs. I feel sorry for Kessel, he can never live this deal down, eventually he'll be traded for picks.

The Bruins deserved the win. The Leafs didn't play as badly as many say. The score was only 2-0, after all. If Caputi's shot goes in instead of hitting the post, it's a much closer game & maybe the Leafs even get a point or two.

Rangers blocked a lot of shots...Lundqvist stopped the rest...Any good rebounds the Leafs couldn't get a handle on....

If Phil Kessel had a centreman of Mats Sundin's quality there is no doubt that he could score 60 goals. Unfortunately within the current roster he's just going to get ground down. By trading away those 1st rounders it proved to me, beyond any shadow of doubt, that Birke has accepted the MLSE credo of just making the playoffs. Without top picks Birke can only improve the team marginally.

My beef isn't with Brian Burke it's with Richard Peddie; since he became Supreme Leader the Leafs have only made the playoffs once and got swept by the Flyers. Usually someone with that level of incompetence gets shitcanned. I cannot take the Leafs seriously as long as Peddie is in the decision making.
