anyone recommend good place to buy expensive and sharp looking suits?

Handmade suits and shirts do come at a price. His suits start at $3,000 and go up from there; the most expensive one he sold was $30,000 – which could buy a nice car. The shirts he makes start at $350 each.

I head down to Grove City, PA and usually stock up at Brooks Brothers and Van Heusen. Try the Harry Rosen Factory Outlet too. With the above information, you should find your search being much easier.

Seriously though, it doesn't matter how much money you spend. If you cannot fill a suit out properly you'll look like shat regardless of what you spend. One of the traits you'll need to look good in a suit is well defined trapezius muscles. The upward curve from your shoulders to your neck can really turn feminine heads - without them you're just a sharp dressed Woody Allen.
In other words, try to look like this guy.

If you want to look sharp in a suit, get it custom made by a good tailor and don't fall for all those high end fashion names, they're great marketers. Off the rack suits never worked for me, although they look good, they never look great.
Personally, I still like Lou Myles, now owns a factory with a front end store in Concord. He used to own a store on Yonge St., downtown, but many years ago sold out and moved up north. Lou is world renown and was well known for making suits for the rich and famous including Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, etc...., he still the tailor of choice for many famous people and makes a lot of private label suits for high end brands. He will also make you a custom suit, cost in the thousands and he's still a great tailor, even at his age.

For 5k you can fly to HK (quality version) or Shenzhen (budget version) and have everything tailored with excellent materials. Material is important because a cheap suit will krinkle and/or show numerous creases when being worn.
btw most Boss stuff is now made in the orient. Rip-off imo.
For about 1200-1500 bucks, you can get made to measure samuleson suits at Harry Rosen. This is a step up from off the rack and a step down from their Bespoke Custom Tailoring.
The differance between Bespoke and Made to measure is the fittings. With Bespoke Tailoring, you will typically have 3-4 fittings durring the process of sewing the suit. With Made to Measure, they take your measurements and make the suit. THere are no fittings during the process.

I have suits from both. I feel more comfortable in the A&S, certainly for work I do, no question.
The Brioni though attracts looks from the girls more on the street. So if you want to impress the ladies, the Brioni is better. If you want to impress bankers the A&S looks and feels very CEO-like.
I also agree that fit is important, as another poster mentioned. A disigner off the rack suit won't look as good as a made to measure or bespoke suit. The construction of an off the rack Brioni will be superior to a 1500 made to measure, but fit is most important when you are viewed from a distance.
