Well, if you must, it's not Blatz and that's a good thing.
Genny is an old name in beer and has solid and consistent taste.

And today i wanted an ALE.

As you know my regular is a Stout. But as all of us here know variety is the spice of life.

A Guinness this afternoon, then a glass of red wine with steaks off the first charcoal BBQ of the season.

Now looking forward to a wee dram (or two) while watching Breaking Bad .... I wish he would have left the pizza on the roof.

Genny makes a LAGER that is very consistent and a nice finish.

Guinness my favorite Stout.
Used to be mine also, but now it just tastes thick and too sweet. Years ago I was in a smalltown bar in Ohio with some friends and ordered a Guinness warm, meaning of course room temp. The bartender came back with a bottle that felt like very warm tea. When he saw my puzzeled expression he explained he had put it in the microwave, but not to worry, he had remembered to take the cap off first. Good for him.

Cold Guinness is not as good as 45 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit of course.

A couple more you might want to try:
Wells IPA, available at some LCBO stores, look around the next time your are in NF.
Liberty Ale from Anchor Brewing in San Francisco.
Anchor Steam Ale is also excellent.

A couple of glasses of red wine, a 2006 Chianti;

made a nice antipasto of tomatoes, roasted peppers, some balsamic vinegar and topped with very crispy bacon - just sort of made it up on the fly, it could make a nice tapas if I had some goat cheese

and then a pasta for dinner

no dessert tonight
