Yes, I agree that it's very nice, Kyra. The lead line now on keyboards as opposed to guitar works very well.

Some of my favourites remakes (not covers)...

Niavana: The Man Who Sold The World (David Bowie original)
Foo Fighters: Darling Nikki (Prince original)
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Higher Ground (Stevie Wonder original)
Johnny Cash: Hurt (Nine Inch Nails original)

How about Jimi Hendrix' version of "All Along the Watchtower?" Bob Dylan wrote the original, but you never hear it on the radio because Jimi's version is so much better.

Otherwise, anything by Richard Cheese is bound to brighten my day - he takes hard rock tunes and turns them into Lounge-y, elevator-music songs:

Welcome to the Jungle (Gn'R)

Possibly my favourite:

I am a fan and collector of cover songs. A few of my recent favourites:

Milow - Ayo technology(50 cent/Justin Timberlake original)

Bif Naked - Nothing Else Matters(Metallica Original)

Cake - War Pigs(Black Sabbath original)

:)

That reminds me of when Pat Boone did his album In A Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy, he did all these metal covers in his own style.

Crazy Train

or Paul Anka did Rock Swings

Really there is no winning here, if we never repeated a topic then new members would not be able to contribute to much as everything had been previously discussed. If someone brings back a thread from years gone by someone points out that they are reviving an old thread and they should just start a new one and if you start a new one someone points out that there was an old one. Oh and I don`t see your favorites in there so feel free to add to either. :p

Nihilsm I have such a crush on Bif Naked.

i always thought that "I Can Hear Music" was a Beach Boys tune..until i discovered about a couple of years ago that it was originally done by the Ronettes, a Phil Spector girl group from the 60,s..lead singer Ronnie Spector is an underrated singer from that era..it is a great tune...Kyra..you are young and maybe not a fan of 60, or 70,s music, but this particular song is 3 minutes of sheer beauty...i have no clue how to link a youtube song, so if anyone else can......

How you get all of that out of "...." is amazing. The board software requires a minimum of four characters in a post.

Sometimes a link with four dots is just a link with four dots.

Interestingly I've heard the Ronnie Spector version before but not the Beach Boys one.

"Crazy Crazy Nights" is a song by the American hard rock band Kiss, originally released on their 1987 album, Crazy Nights. It is recognized as their signature hit.

A great cover album is Big Daddy's version of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. They did each song in the style of an artist from the 1950's. Try to imagine those classic Beatles songs in the style of Jerry Lee Lewis, Dion, and Buddy Holly. It works in a weird sort of way.

Here's a couple of covers Clapton did. (it's an all inclusive thread your non-cover is welcome)

Both songs were originally by JJ Cale
Thank-you, and now that I have started drinking and going down memory lane for the evening I'll post a couple from 40+ years ago when I was a young man.

It was a time when we could do no wrong and the world was ours, and then time slipped by.
