Hardly.

Like Cassie Campbell said at the women's ceremony, it's a devastating situation. You've just lost the gold medal game. She said, and I've heard several other athletes say in interviews:
''you lose gold, you win bronze''. Tomorrow, and in the days to come, the U.S. players will appreciate the medal more than they did today. The Canadian players would have reacted much the same way, had the game gone the other way.

All of Yonge & Dundas is closed off. I can hear the cars honking outside my DT condo. Imagine if the the Leafs won the cup?

It was a very exciting game, the US deserves some recognition as it was so close. I can only imagine how emotional it must be for them to lose after tying it with only seconds left in the 3rd.
All in all I am incredibly proud of Canada for not only this game but the way all the athletes played this winter olympics, what a great year this was.
I too am very proud to be Canadian right now. :D

What better way to finish it off then to have the Maple Leafs Ron Wilson ..... coach the LOSING TEAM !!!!!!!!!

He did a great job though

I think in the future they will look back and say, "I won a Silver Medal at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver" No small achievement. The Americans played a very hard and competative game and frankly, we got lucky.

Hockey has come a long way in the USA in the last 25 years. The Americans used to be a joke. Not anymore. With a huge population compared to us it only makes sense that with time they will improve even that much more.

I agree with all that except the luck part. Canada were (slightly) better, they deserved Gold

What Kyra said. The Canadian team won with class and humility, and the U.S.A. team played hard and lost with dignity and grace.

The Americans were fine.

If you want to talk about someone who behaved without class, you should look to a Vancouver native, Dale Begg Smith.
The most petulant, and unsporting medalist of the game.

That was creepy.

Even some of the girls were like WTF??!!

I would agree. To quote the old ABC's sports motto, "The thrill of victory and agony of defeat." How so true Pencilneckgeek's remark, "You lose the gold and win the bronze."

7 of these teams, (Canada, USA, Finland, Slovakia, Russia, Sweden and Czech Rep) could have taken the medals. That just shows the strength of the game worldwide.

The only comment that I question is that today is a good day to be a proud Canadian. I AM A PROUD CANADIAN EVERYDAY!
