If you feel you must have iPhone, then shop around for the best rates. I would never go with Rogers in a million years myself.
yes rogers sucks but so does bell and telus

actually between the 3 evils rogers is the lesser i think, plus they have the best coverage
and if your already with rogers as ur provider, you can get a great deal
right now im paying 52 taxes included for my plan with 1 gig of data plus a bunch of other goodies.
it all depends how you talk to retentions

lol the people in this thread who are bashing the iphone are the ones who have never had one.
i have both a BB and an iphone, bb strictly for work and iphone for my personal use

its not even close which phone i prefer, once u jailbreak an iphone the possibilities are endless. oh and btw jailbreaking is now as simple as plugging ur phone into ur computer and pushing a button, takes about 20 sec
go with the iphone and ull never look back
the apps are what make the iphone and no phone on the market comes remotely close to offering the number of apps the iphone has
I totally agree with this post, iPhone is the best phone I ever owned.

And the best app for my JB phone is CyCorder. The high quality videos are amazing

Got it!...thanks for clearing it up for me.

But that would lead me to more questions.

If Apple products are so bad why are they still in business and why are so many creative businesses Mac based?

Is EVERY person using a Mac (or Apple product) a moron?

Why are so many people around the world lisitening to Ipods? 100% all Morons?

How could a company OBVIOUSLY building CRAP still attract customers and investors? Ignorant Morons?

Thanks for clearing this up. I'm confused here!
I'm confused, where did I say they were crap? Please point it out to me.....

I just said that no one who bought one would ever admit that they didn't like it. People who buy apple products have bought into the "cache" of owning it. Creative design companies use them because of that "cache". But then again, artsy types always were more keen on being on the fringes as opposed to going with the norm.
Apple products while innovative, are overpriced, over hyped, and no better or worse than any other product, just marketed well.

Just look at the owners who harp on the fact that "they don't crash" and "they don't break". Load of crap. As stated in this thread, someone went through 3, and if they never break, and are perfect in every way, how can rogers be selling so many refurb models? Refurb means they either broke and needed to be repaired or someone returned it because they didn't like it.

Put it another way: if rogers can list them on their site, and they've BEEN selling them since last spring, there must be THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of them being returned.

So, if you're one of the many who bought into the hype, more power to you just realize that is what you've done.

Just like Hybrid cars: they really aren't any better for the environment than a good compact car with a small gasoline engine or better yet, a diesel. A golf diesel gets way better fuel economy and produces less toxins per litre. Couple that with what is the long term plan for handling of the batteries?

Just one more note on Iphones:

One has to wonder why the plan providers have such limited options for the Iphone. Why can't they offer the same flexibility as they do with all the other smart phones? With most, you can buy a one day pass for a dollar so you only pay for the days that you need roaming data access. You can't do that with Iphone plans.

Why does it "need" to constantly download updates and why do you have to pay for that data usage? All if not most smart phones download the updates free via your pc. I even heard a rumor that the fricken thing downloads even when it is off. (guy went to Europe and left his phone off the entire time. Got back to the US and was hit with a $2000.00 invoice since his phone was updating while he was away).

My apologies for the confusion.

I was NOT quoting you there.

Those words were from my mouth after reading peoples posts on their opinion of Mac products.

My apologies for the confusion.

I DID NOT say you said that.

Those words were from my mouth after reading peoples post on their opinion of Mac products.
The thing is: no one said they were crap, just that they weren't as "perfect" as everyone hypes them up to be. For eg: I was looking for a sata cable. I went into Carbon Computing. One of the drones said they might have one in service. I went in to find shelves and shelves and shelves of apple computers in for repair. I said to the guy behind the counter: what are all these in for, software upgrades? No he said, they're in for repairs. I said "I thought macs never broke down"? He let out a big "chortle" and said "yeah right"......but if you listen to mac owners: they don't, EVER. They are perfect in every way possible. Like the guy on here who said: he has a relationship with it and takes it out to places where other mac users go to socialize. that gave me the willies when I read that.....someone who has a relationship with a computer has some serious psyche issues......

I thought the Space Shuttle was perfect also! I wonder if there is any "man made" product in the world that NEVER fails.

Thanks for your insight into Apple products.

Telus will have the Motorola Milestone (an Android phone) available soon.

May also want to look at the Palm Pre Plus.

to try and get this away from apple good or bad, I'd suggest this:

Go out and TRY the thing. Many cellphone stores have actual units you can play with for a bit to see whether you like them or not. I know not all do, but if one doesn't? go to another store.

I really HATE all the dummy phones, what does THAT tell you about the phone other than it's size? I know if I was able to try out my HTC touch I might not have bought it (but I paid a LOT less than full retail so I can't complain TOO much).

Meh! Opinions are just that. I have a PC, a Windows netbook, a Macbook Pro and about 9 linux servers. I like them all for what they do, run specific software designed for them. That being said, I like my iPhone and much prefer it to my Bb. But I don't expect my recommendation should sway you. Play with a friend's for a while and make up your own mind.

As for data, don't use it as a laptop, and you will be fine.

You experts here are well defined: X (unknown quantity) spurt (drip under pressure)

Okay...this thread is timely. I've been looking to move to an Iphone recently.
Just got back from Future Shop and spent some time playing with both the Iphone and the Samsung Omnia II
I liked both, but the on screen key board of the Samsung was better...had a 5.0 MP camera, and 16GB memory, wifi and opera as a browser for a 100 dollars or so less than the Iphone!
Hard not to like. Anyone had any experience with the Samsung?

Checkmate by Medman52.

Check post #33 for thrust and parry, with post #37 being the self inflicted coup de grâce

The new iPhone is still going to be the same, just newer software so it doesn't really make a diff mate.

I mistakenly purchased a non-simm Omnia and for the time that I played with it, thought it was fantastic. If either of my existing breaks I'll probably get one myself.

If you're thinking of buying one MAKE SURE it is the simm version. It also has a xenon flash which is better than the ones most smart phones come with (better colour reproduction IMO).

you can only run iPhone apps on an iPhone ... you think Apple would have it any other way?

That's one of the features of Android. It's free and open source, so you could have multiple hardware manufacturers (HTC, Motorola).
