Personally, my post count is useless at determining if I'm honest.
In general it depends on their other posts, but a first post of an honest experience can be very valuable.
The post count isn't really a true indicator of credibility but can help us judge in the overall look.
QUOTE]
My thoughts exactly.
And as a genuine newby ... look at my count and start date -- I think it's fine for others to know I'm new and/or to reserve judgment until they are sure of my credibility
For me, seeing the count gives me a sense of how much someone is engaging the forums.
And if people choose to ignore my posts because of the low count, that's their choice. Won't change my level of engagement.
But I have to say, in response to other comments about whether some posters convey a sense of entitlement ...
"whatever ... doesn't really matter, does it?"
As far as I'm concerned, pompous attitudes say as much about credibility as post counts ...
It's all about WHAT you post and HOW you do it
... but then, a hot post may just be an isolated flamer or a bad hair day ... LOL
It's a public forum...people say what they want, when they want, and how many times they want. It's not a pay-per-post.Again, just for The Bandit: Based on some recent behaviour trends across various forums/threads, I'm curious if eliminating public visibility of the member post count would change some of the negative current TERB culture and allow for a freer exchange of opinions / perspectives.
I'll make it more brief and of course add to my count, no.It's a public forum...people say what they want, when they want, and how many times they want. It's not a pay-per-post.
I'd challenge that thinking. I think there may be more newish and lurker members than some may think who do not post comments as much as they could based on the amount of time they are actually surfing TERB, simply because they feel intimidated by some of what I'll call (for lack of a better term) the "Old Guard's Backlash". In terms of overall regularity of posts, of the 108K registered TERB members, seems like a comparatively very small consistent group who seem to dominate the conversations in most forums, so again, I'm curious to see if the invisible majority has a perspective to share on this issue using the poll as the vehicle. It's a public forum...people say what they want, when they want, and how many times they want.
Remove post counts?
You trying to give Cycleguy a heart attack?
Hahahahaha...Touche! Sorry Cycleguy! No changes are imminent, I'm quite sure.... LMAO!
LOL! Unless you count all the "reviews" I've done on her!^ Wow 0- Reviews
I guess incase Mrs. CG was to join Terb that would have been evidence!
***Hahahahaha...
It seems toughb is more (still?) obsessed with my post count than I am... I really don't give a crap.
And please, don't be sorry demien... my ticker is about as strong as they come... (lots of cardio in my daily workouts...), although I do admit to getting a little flustered when our sexy terb ladies go on about pleasuring each other sexually! (and keep a set of defib paddles around just in case! LOL
Everyone knows my posts don't count for shit anyway... 0 real reviews, 11,000+ posts of random silliness, pics of naked chicks, useless information, and going on about Mrs. CG, a few dozen or so trying to teaching other terbs how to post pics, or signatures etc and about 1/2 a dozen or so trying to teach someone how to do "quotes", and then there's this one!
What of it?
Stay away from Max and Gracie.... I like my cats WITH skin thank you vary much!CG, always remember there is more that one way to skin a cat.
HOLY C-RAP! Alert the media! I actually AGREE with Brill on this....fuck, I think I need to sit down. I don't feel too well right now.... ;-pI think a better way to improve the atmosphere is to have reviews stand alone. No "nice review!" or "way to go, dude!" or "what the fuck, she didn't give me a bbbj" to detract from one guy's view and experience.
Not too long ago, Sheik mentioned he was considering this idea.I think a better way to improve the atmosphere is to have reviews stand alone. No "nice review!" or "way to go, dude!" or "what the fuck, she didn't give me a bbbj" to detract from one guy's view and experience.
I do agree the "way to go's " , " I gotta see this girl " posts are a waste of band width but takeI think a better way to improve the atmosphere is to have reviews stand alone. No "nice review!" or "way to go, dude!" or "what the fuck, she didn't give me a bbbj" to detract from one guy's view and experience. Since that can't happen, it's usually best to ignore the rest of that thread.
I don't see where post count is negative or positive, unless the writing is obviously the woman or one of her friends and we need to check their history.
Frankly at 0.75 posts-per-day, you haven't been active enough to bring forward such a motion..Should Terb Remove Member Post Counts From Public View?.
I don't think that's the problem of the board. If some people are going to be intimidated by that, it says more about them than the board. I mean c'mon, to most other members you're just a made-up name in cyberspace. Who cares about anybody's backlash. A vocal and opinionated person is going to feel they are right with or without a post count.I think there may be more newish and lurker members than some may think who do not post comments as much as they could based on the amount of time they are actually surfing TERB, simply because they feel intimidated by some of what I'll call (for lack of a better term) the "Old Guard's Backlash"
