I've been curious as to the cultural impact this move might have, based on some recurring themes in the Lounge and Review forums over the past few months,,,

I've heard a number of perspectives:

- members with low post counts who very occasionally contribute having those rare contributions devalued or derided due to "lack of credibility'"
- new members being afraid to post negative or less favorable comments due to "lack of credibility"
- members with very high post counts given automatic "status" or "instant credibility" regardless of the actual tangible value of their post content / merit
- members with low post counts being cyber-bullied or intimidated by members with high post counts

So again, I am curious...how do members of all flavors think the TERB community's online behaviour, demeanor, level of respect towards each other might change if no one could see anyone else's post count but their own?

Nope! It's interesting information. It's what you glean from them that makes the difference. Some people fixate on the numbers and go off on a tangent, some don't.

You could have alot of problems with sp's bad mouthing other sp's by creating multiple accounts - it is very easy to do. I get attacked alot by some of the posts I put up, but you get used to it. I don't post reviews anymore because I have been accused in the past of being a shill for the sp's. I have generally tried to say something nice but if you are too complimentary, you will get the cat-calls.

I find the best is to communicate through PM. Members seem to be less judgemental, more helpful and more respectful.

Personally, my post count is useless at determining if I'm honest.

In general it depends on their other posts, but a first post of an honest experience can be very valuable.
The post count isn't really a true indicator of credibility but can help us judge in the overall look.

Don't fixate on what others say about your reviews demien2k5, learn to either ignore them or learn how to improve your reviewing - whatever you feel is right.

Now you see, your initial comments are fair and balanced, but not sure why you've suddenly made this about me personally, it's not. The poll relates to a broader issue I'm interested hearing from the membership on. Please don't de-rail the poll with insinuations.

I singled you out, but I mean the same advice for every terb member. I don't mean to insinuate anything.
Do you disagree with my last sentence?

The post count is a clue (but definitely not the determining factor) as to whether the poster is a shill.

I do, in so much as I don't fixate on anything other than women in general, and personally coudn't give a fat rat's ass about what anyone says about my reviews. They are what they are, they are written very deliberately in terms of content and style, and I don't believe they need to be improved in any particular way; that may be yours and others' view, which I can respect, but I don't share your opinion on that particular issue. I also don't judge the style or content of anyone else's reviews. Live and let live, man. Take what's useful, leave the rest, ignore it all completely if it doesn't work for you.

So again, this ain't about me personally, and so as not to de-rail...back to the poll question please

Back to the poll question ... I'm indifferent on this one.

I take the point about some members' sense of entitlement but I don't know that eliminating post counts would solve that problem.

In the past, I have joked about some of the White Knights who will go through a person's posting history if they disagree with that person on an issue. Even if they don't find anything, they still publicly post that "I went through your posting history" ... presumably as a way of letting you know you're being watched.

As with the post count issue, there seems to be a sense of entitlement here. Some posters feel they have the right to expect others to conform to their way of thinking.

Sorry, White Knights, but in my case, you're wasting your time going through my posting history. To lift a phrase from demien, I don't give a "fat rat's ass" what you think of my past comments. Nor do I care that I'm being watched.

For normal jibber posts the counts mean nothing. While for known reviewers I know what their style is like and know what to expect from the ladies based on their feedback. However for gauging validity and review style of relatively unknown reviewers the post count helps with another part of their story just as the joined date does.

.

I find post helpful in assessing a members comments . A lot of topics get recycled on TERB so I am less critical
of a newby (taken at face value) making inquiries on topics that have been done to death .

Post count can also be a good indicator of the myriad agendas being pursued on this sight . Jilted Boyfriends
hating on girlfriends , SP's hating on the competition , Sp's hating on Agencies , and so on .

Interesting POV Smylee, but I'm not following...can you elaborate on this point as it relates to post count? Thx!

If you eliminat post count, the archived info will still be available and you will be able to see how many posts the member has, just a little more work to find it. I am certain some (or many) ladies will check a person's posting history before agreeing to a session. I don't think you should be able to remove a member's post history, as that gives you an indication of what the person's (online) character is like.

As for reviews, if you didn't know how many posts someone has, they could create a dozen accounts and shill their favourite girl. If you can create a new profile every day, you can quickly add up the shills.

There are members who have been on TERB for many years with thousand of posts, and I would not have known that unless i could see their history. There are too many members to remember them all by name. It does add a little more validity to their reviews if you can see that they have a number of posts to their name, and can peruse those posts to glean whatever information they may provide.

Personally, I think the post counts should stay.

Between a rock and a hard place
- members with very high post counts given automatic "status" or "instant credibility" regardless of the actual tangible value of their post content / merit
- members with low post counts being cyber-bullied or intimidated by members with high post counts
If only it were true. I've been cyber-bullied for positive and negative reviews, had pathetic counterclaims used against me, been accused of misconduct, insulted, bad grammar, and just about everything you can name. My post count is in the high 5000s, and I'm the 5th member (#5 out of hundreds of thousands of members) to join this forum since it's last incarnation.

On TERB, that is a sign of status. :D

Some men feel insecure about their small post counts and compensate by being loud and aggressive. I hear they are more likely to drive sports cars.

You can't read, I said you have the option to ignore criticism and to write how you want. From your response it sounds like a tender spot with you though, try not to let it become a fixation. Obviously you do give a rat's ass.
Read my last sentence again.
Don't fixate on what others say about your reviews demien2k5, learn to either ignore them or learn how to improve your reviewing - whatever you feel is right.
