Bordeaux 2 Juventus 0
Cagliari 2 Juventus 0

Arsenal still had a better week than Juventus.

Black Wednesday highlighted the damage that Farcipoli has done to Serie A. Thanks alot Moratti...Inter will never win the Champions Cup.

Juve's defense is horrific; Chiellini is the only legit defender they have, he'll be batttered and spent by the timne he gets to South Africa. On a positive note, Cagliari keeper Rico Marchetti has established himself as Buffon's heir on the Azzurri. But he needs to move to a big club to solidify his credentials.

he'll be at Milan next year.....and as for Chiellini... he'll be partnered with Ranocchia (U21/Bari) next year... Fabio will most likely move onto his home town Napoli.... unless Lippi convinces him to stay at Juve...which would be a mistake...

Juve's defense on paper is quite good... you'd think with Ferrara as coach they'd be more organized at the back...

in any event Ferrara is only holding the fort till after the WC where Lippi will come and take over all of Juventus, which will no doubt strike fear in InterMilan's Moratti thereby conspiring once again against the Old Lady of Italian Soccer...

Should Balotelli move to Arsenal?

Today he showed his awesome potential against Kazan: back-heeling a pass to Eto'o for one goal and netting a laser of a free kick for the second goal. He can become the best player on the planet, but only if he jettisons his tiresome 40Cent routine. His wealthy Northern Italian step-family spoiled him and having his step-brother as his agent isn't doing him any favours. When he arrived at Inter, Mancio continued to coddle him but Mourinho's tough love has had mixed results.

A bid of 30 million Euros has been offered by Arsenal; Mourinho said he'd accept - only if they tossed in Cesc Fabregas.

Inter, Inter VA FAN CUL!

I think the Special One got it wrong...Inter would have to throw in 30 million with Balotelli if they want Cesc:D

With Inter, AC Milan and Bayern finishing second in their groups, there should be some tasty matchups in the first round of the knockout phase. Can't wait.

Anyone else catch today's (dec 12) Manchester United/Aston Villa game?

Rooney clearly dived in the area and the ref was pulling out a yellow. They hadn't even played the replay before the English announcer was crowing about what bad refereeing it was. Now you know that if a foreign player had done the same thing...

I like the EPL, but that kind of double standard drives me nuts.

Tack on Gerrard's dive fest of late...I hear what you're saying.

I'm curious to hear what scouser says about that pitiful 2nd half performance yesterday. Liverpool were very good in the 1st half and then pulled a disappearing act in the 2nd half not mustering a solitary shot on goal. I don't think Rafa has to go just yet but they need depth and actually need to start Aquilani!! Why is he constantly on the bench???

Inter would be wise to hold onto Balotelli...but Arsenal definitely need something up front. I think they will nab Chamakh in the summer quite frankly as he'll be available on a free and he is having an excellent year at Bordeaux. With no RVP though I fear for Arsenal. Eduardo simply isn't the same and Bendtner is well Bendtner.

Balotelli is the real thing, but the guy seems to have some personal issues.

Gerrard's dives are the worst. He manages to suck at the diving AND come across as the biggest hypocrite in the game for all the times he shoots his mouth off about foreigners.

Plain and simple Liverpool lack the confidence it seems as when they went down 2-1 they looked completely lost, every pass was to the back, do these guys know they are suppose to be going forward? More importantly is the lack of depth, outside of Gerrard and Torres, I mean seriously who scares the crap out of other teams?

The Aquillani issue is interesting only because I believe Rafa knows he isnt fully 100% fit, and thats why he isnt starting, he has shown flashes of potential that could be a fine replacement for Alonso. God/Jesus/Allah/Buddah/Vishnu help that club if they finish out of the top 4, there is going to be chaos, manager, owner and players wise.

Adrian Mutu has indicated that he could leave Fiorentina in January - if he does it will confirm his reputation as a stupid idiot. He should look at the precedent of Kozmanovic and Melo; players that have left the Viola and discovered the bitter reality that the grass is brown on the other side. Fiorentina's success is based on the sum being greater than the parts, and all directed by the nimble tactical mind of the under-rated Cesare Prandelli.

A Liverpool supporter suggested that they should buy Fiorentina's stars. What little knowledge these scousers posses, to return to their glory days they should hire Prandelli.

I don't really care for Man City, but I cannot believe they would dump Hughes just like that. Sure they were apparently under-achieving but they've only lost in the league twice. Hughes was never the long term guy I suppose, that and he blew $38 mill on Lescott and Toure! Even more bizarre is the appointment of Mancini, I liked him at Lazio but soon as he jumped ship for Inter I lost respect for him. He is a decent manager but not what City need. I am thinking Villa get 4th this year.

just a side topic that has to do with soccer, anyone here into internet podcasts? Having to put up with late night sports radio in North America is enough to make me go nuts. In between the 24 hour Leaf station ( Fan 590) and the Yanks going on and on about their "college" football I looked for alternatives and yes folks I do realize that ESPN radio and Fan 590 are catering to their audiences, so please no discussion of this or that sport sucks or is gay!!

a couple of my favs are the Guardians weekly podcast and the BBC's 606.

Ain't it cool.:D

Another demonstration of how far Juve have fallen since Farcipoli. It's clear that the management team that took over, after Italian football was brought to undeserved disrepute, is incompetent. They expected Ciro Ferrara to do for the Old Lady what Guardiola did for Barcelona. They are too stupid to realize that the current Barca champions were built by Frank Rijkaard, and they were built from the defense out. Juve's defense is in shambles, a problem that wasn't addressed in the summer.

If Marcello Lippi thinks he can make an impact in South Africa with Cannavaro, Grosso and Zambrotta starting; Italy will be disgraced.

Italy's defence is not looking up to snap, and neither is its strike force, the likes of Gilardino. Di Natale and arent cutting it and the promise of Balotelli well I am still waiting. They have resorted to considering Totti, wow how the mighty have fallen.
