I actually understand music what's your beef?
I think he was actually agreeing with you in saying that there's no 'best' era of hip-hop since hip-hop uniformly sucks and isn't real music. In either case, you guys are both 100% ignorant of music, and can't call yourself music fans. You can, not enjoy hip-hop, and dislike even a vast majority of it, but to deny the musical value, craftmanship and lyrical ability of the best of the genre is just plain dumb

And by the way Hadrian, clever is not spelled cleaver

Hip hop R&B crossover of the mid 90`s........there were some serious joints dropped back then. I`m a huge Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins fan, he was the king of the remixes but I still prefer the bad boy version of that Gina Thompson song since it used my favourite beat of all time. Here are some of my personal faves from that era:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STDUzG2w3qc
Mona Lisa ft. the LOX - Just Wanna Please U (remix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZvVESpGl84
Shai ft. Jay Z - I Don`t Wanna Be Alone (remix) produced by the one and only Marley Marl

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSec7wq-Mro&feature=related
Soul 4 Real ft. Herb McGruff - If You Want It (Bad Boy remix)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_KA3TN4IjE
Skin Deep ft. Keith Murray - No More Games (remix)

This is my fav Darkchild remix Tyrese`s Sweet Lady

This one was slept on big time.

Rap music isn't real music. It's street theater. Nevertheless, some of it is very good.

Hip hop and Rap are not synonymous, they are different.
Hip Hop is music, Rap is not music.

Sorry not actually music, cleaver though!
I actually understand music what's your beef?
I've noticed that in 'music related threads' you've often had the audacity to tell people who and what good music is. Who the hell do you think you are? I've seen you plug your act and invite people down to your shows like it's the end all in music (and a few for some face-to-face meetings), but if you were as good as you think, then you wouldn't have to troll for an audience. (This is where you'll tell me how great you are again.) Personally, I don't care for the genre that you're into, but I don't feel the need to call it 'non-music'. You're so cocky that you even feel the need to 'beef' with people that agree with you. Get off your imaginary soap-box, nobody around here needs your delusions of grandeur.

lol, as soon as i saw title of this thread, i just knew there would be some debate about how its not music, hiphop sucks blah blah blah. people are so predictable sometimes.

as far as the best era, i'm undecided... i liked a lot of the 90's stuff, say 1992 to maybe 1998 or 1999.

i'm hoping the best era hasn't arrived yet!

Rap is not music.
Hip Hop is a music genre that has been around awhile.

Here's a good example of Hip Hop...:)

Big Fat Daddy - Irene Ried
and another good Hip Hop
Fever/My Baby Just Cares For Me - Mike Carr with his Trio and Irene Reid
