Soon they'll be telling us that the Jays will trade Reyes for an all star shortstop from the National League. Ridiculous
That's my point, exactly.

Everybody talks about this trade and that and who needs to go etc., but in the end it turns out being something totally different from all the "knowledgeable experts'" predictions and suggestions. You guys make predictions without any inkling of the internal process/discussions. Totally uninformed wild stabs in the dark.

Price almost sure to go to Dodgers.

Jays now chasing Yovani Gallardo.
He's a low ERA high strikeout type pitcher

and what are the Jays supposedly offering for this rental?
It will have to be at least one current Jay plus a slew of minor leaguers, and a bunch of draft picks

You can't trade draft picks or players drafted less than one year ago. (So any player from the 2015 draft cannot be dealt yet) It's an mlb rule. There is a small pool of equalization Picks (12 picks IIRC) that are handed out annually by MLB to small market teams at the end of this first and second round. Only those "equalization" picks can be included in trades. And the Jays do not have one.

The true mark of an mlb fake trader is one that includes draft picks in a deal.

How sure are you about the draft picks?
Because I dont think we have enough minor leaguers to entice Price with. Unless you wanna give up a very promising current Jay ( like Travis) in a package deal.

I cant see Detroit taking Travis back after they just released him for nothing though. The optics look kinda retarded

Sanchez has better stuff and will be an ace. Stroman is a #2 or #3 in the rotation. Nothing wrong with that though.
I disagree. Sanchez has the power game, but not the repertoire of pitches to be an ace. Typically (with exceptions) you need a change up and reliable movement to be a great starter. I think Stroman is better positioned for that.

Sanchez for me is a bit of a tweener. He will be a really good pitcher in 3 to 4 years. But it may be in the bullpen if he can't make it as a starter over the next few years

Pretty sure you can't. Only those provided to small-market teams; but those picks are another complicated matter.

Price is a rental and you would be stupid to give up 3 prospects for a guy that is probably going elsewhere next year. There are guys out there that can help that won't deplete your farm. Hamels Cueto and Price are guys I do not expect to see in a Jays uniform. The cost of getting anyone of those guys will take your farm system apart.
Read tread #1970, what's Price career records against the Yankees? Now,Price is the BJ we need him to go into the Bronx to get a W for us on the road no less. Plan the WS parade route!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

So in the past few months AA has brought Josh Donaldson, Devon Travis,Russ Martin, Troy Tulowitzki and David Price to Toronto. That's, respectively, the best 3rd baseman in baseball, the kid who would easily be rookie of the year in the Al if not for injury, the beat catcher in the league, the best all-round shortstop in baseball, and a Cy Young winner who is among the best pitchers in baseball for the last decade. And some idiots on here want him to be fired.
