"Zoom" teeth whitening works!

So nobody responded to my request for info while I was considering Zoom teeth whitening at my dentist. No worries as most likely not that many terbies have had it done.

I'm starting a new thread as I think the fact that it works is worth one.

Had it done today. Total cost $199. My teeth are 5 shades whiter on the dentist's colour chart.

Not movie star or teenager white, but much better than they were.

Despite prior warnings of some discomfort during the procedure and teeth sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours after, that has not happened to me.

Two hours in the dentist's chair, with headphones supplied by the dentist, listening to classic 60's Motown & Stax soul, and I was done!

Highly recommended if you would like your teeth to be significantly whiter, at a very reasonable cost.

how long does the white maintain its white until the next whitening?

I dunno. They give you a take-home maintenance kit, and state you can expect a slight lessening of the initial whitening a couple of days after the treatment.

I'll report back if there is significant backsliding at any unreasonable point in time. The hygienist said it also depends on whether you smoke, drink a lot of coffee, use a lot of soy sauce, etc., being the things, besides natural aging, that tend to discolour teeth.

All I can say is I'm super happy right now, no sensitivity or discomfort, and I'm hoping this will improve my ymmv lol!

The teeth look 5 shades lighter because the teeth are dehydrated after treatment. They will darken a bit as the teeth rehydrate. That will be the stable shade for the next few months. Depending on eating and drinking habits the teeth will pick up stains. The enamel is like the concrete sidewalk with micro porosities that trap stains. If you powerwash the sidewalk it will look whiter. The carbamide peroxide will bubble out stains from the porosities of the enamel

I like it! I’m a coffee drinker and when my mouth looks like it can use a touch up, I use the little kit they sent me home with. Works great as a compliment to the in office visit.

It won’t give you a Kelly Ripa blue nding white smile, but it gives you a few shades brighter and it will make you feel better. Just another part of my grooming regimen. I’m a believer.
