Hippos have an array of weapons in which to defend themselves against predators.They have the toughest hide of any animal, not even sharks can bite through. A pack of lions attacked a hippo catching zzzzzzzs. The hippo got up and started to move away, the lions went after it to get bites. Finally the hippo lost patience and started farting...then this happened!
Hippos are insanely dangerous, I remember the look of sheer terror on Steve Irwin's (RIP) face ...and probably the droplets in his shorts... when he was confronted by one.

I have only encountered alligators in the wild. Generally, they do not pose a threat to humans unless provoked or approached. Tigers are natural hunters and will aggressively defend their territory, as will bears. Among bears, black bears are the least dangerous, while brown bears and grizzlies are significantly more threatening. The most dangerous of the four is the hippopotamus, which kills more people annually in Africa than any of the others.
