You need to lift and find the rock before it gets to you. But I will agree that the land matters i thought they would leave you in some sort of arena.

Climb up the wall if you can. Shimmy up the portcullis. Hell run up the wall and land on the critter. With a croc you only need a few feet. I went to a croc farm in Florida. They had these low barriers. Maybe 2+feet. But two of them about 20 ft apart so no one stupid climbed over or reached a hand in.

It's a chance at least. The other three no way you make it.

2) Griz. They don't see us as food so it may be satisfied with a beating.
3) Tiger. They hunt by stalking so maybe I can make the 20 minutes.

It really depends as what is the environment am I fighting in?

In water, a forest, are there tools(rocks sticks sand).

I'll use anything in my environment to increase my odds of survival.

For ease if fighting in a ring I would choose the alligator. It's out of it's environment, can't drown me, apparently can be wrestled, one weapon versus many as a clawed or teethed animall

Hippo is the last one I would try. They kill more humans than all 3 above. Apex predator and extremely territorial.

Territorial yes, but herbivores. They are notably ill tempered but I think most of those deaths are because subsistence farmers try to defend their crops, and people mess around in or near rivers where male hippos try to defend their mates and calfs. (AFAIR and AFAIK.) In an arena those shouldn't be factors.

Though, I wouldn't want to test that theory too much, lol.

We need more choices, throw in a hyena and a komodo dragon, and tighten the rules to avoid hearing from the lawyers,
so explicitly state that the contestant will be locked up with one of them in an arena for 20min, and the animals have been properly fed
