Our debt level has exploded under his government. All he seems to be doing is globetrotting and pissing off other countries.

Not happy about the pot issue, or the fact he's ignoring our National Defense. Navy desperately needs ships, and RCAF needs new frontline aircraft.

Those articles are alarmist. There was a recession in Alberta as oil prices imploded, so the govt has done its job to boost that economy. Almost every PM hits a new high for percapita spend due to inflation and economic growth. Its a BS stat by a right wing rag.

The way they've handled the NAFTA negotiations, yes. Canada should hold out until Mexican President Elect Obrador assumes office. It's not known if he will ratify or reject the agreement.

While the later is personal opinion, as to the former you are absolutely correct, the President is a populist, not a political conservative, very little of his actions thus far have been at all the actions of a political conservative.

"Prime Minister Scheer" is not exactly a great alternative choice. The real problem is that nobody, including the CPC, expected 2019 to be a race. That's why a lot of people sat out the last CPC leadership race. Popular party opinion was that Scheer would be the poor slob who maintains the party in opposition while they rebuild for 2023 (and another leadership race after Scheer loses in 2019 - with Scheer rewarded with a plum cabinet post or a diplomatic posting).

Had the CPC known or even thought that there was a slim possibility of regaining power after 4 years - people like Ambrose, McKay, maybe even Kenney, possibly Brad Wall - would not have sat out. So the CPC is stuck with Scheer. Honestly, I believe that there are people within the CPC who do NOT want to see Scheer win either. Because if he does - that kills the hopes for a lot of others who have been biding their time in the trenches - looking forward to 2023 as the realistic goal (in other words a Scheer win is a forced retirement for any leadership hopefuls who sat out the last one).

Bernier will tear into Scheer's Conservative votes. Baby Scheer does not make his Party's platform very transparent for now, so all he does is criticize the PM, as that is all he thinks his mandate is all about. No doubt his only route to victory is a total screw up by the Liberals where their votes could be gobbled by the NDP. But my concern would then be if someone like Bernier's radical populist party then squeaks in. Bad enough having someone like Baby Scheer, but Bernier would be the Quebcois Trump in power. Trump=Disaster!!

The conservatives ought to be able to win in a cake walk over the inept Trudeau government, but Scheer is a poor leader and has all the charisma of a retired single elementary math teacher who likes long walks, knitting socks, and paging through his collection of Barry Manilow concert ticket stubs.

The electorate should have taken note when Justin was quoted with "the budget will take care of itself"
since elected he has shown a total disregard for the taxpayer running deficit after deficit with no plan to get back to balance
He screwed up when he attacked small business
He has made a unsolvable mess with the pipelines, buying one which will never be built, killing another outright & instructed the bureaucrats to kill the third
He is fumbling the NAFTA ball

No way Harper, Chretien or Martin would have created the economic mess Justin has

Chretien and Martin did a pretty good job of trimming the national debt without a World War or an economic downturn.

Interesting graph on page 11. Justin, along with PM Bowell (1895) are the only two Prime Ministers to increase the debt when there was not an economic downturn.

I voted Liberal last time and I was hoping that Trudeau would have had a strong team behind him to continue in the same responsible manner as that of the Chretien/Martin governments. However, I have lost faith in his abilities as a leader.
