Hello,
I know a lot of you only frequent agencies. If one of the women you enjoy the company of quits to become independent, do you keep seeing her or you go back to browsing through the agency’s catalogue to find a new one?
What makes you choose agencies over independent providers?
(opinion from a beginner who has a single agency experience and has not booked an Indy yet and who usually has specific scheduling constraints)
If I already have a rapport with the SP, I would most likely continue as a client. Unless the price or quality of the venues are drastically different, I dot see any material changes to what I’m seeking and getting.
However what inhibits me from trying new SP’s is due to (and I acknowledge that this is likely a “me problem”:
1. Booking convenience and communications.
I would imagine that agencies are able to communicate faster. Do Indy sp’s outsource admin duties to dedicated bookers?
Also, would same day bookings (my preferred way of partaking at the moment) be more viable through agencies?
Also with some SP’s implementing live calendars on their websites, the gap is closing on the scheduling aspect.
I can’t stand twitter so I trying to communicate with an Indy SP through that platform.
2. Expectations and marketing
I find that agency marketing and presentation is a bit more straightforward.
Everyone goes to an SP for their own reasons, and I am very early in my connoisseur journey, but for me I am a bit allergic to the hoity toity fluffy marketing that many Indy SP’s use because it somehow creates a complicated expectation for me beyond simply being hygienic, friendly, polite and respectful. I get it - some of it is intentionally done to maybe filter out the riff raff and to present a certain image. It just makes it a little less enticing for me when I am making a choice between choosing an agency girl where expectations are pretty much understood by all parties vs an Indy whom I may need to “discuss my expectations” with prior to the appointment. I don’t have time or desire for such dramatic motions and gestures in a 45-60m session.
