Movies like Plan 9, Glen or Glenda, Reefer Madness are funny as hell and are worth seeing because they are so bad.
A modern version, which received glowing reviews and had a good cast, is Damage. Seeing Jermey Irons naked should tell you all you need to know. While everyone was taking this "heavy drama" so seriously in the theatre, we were doing our best not to laugh outloud throughout the movie

Showgirls is another one in the "so bad, it is great" category. A movie which received plenty of accolades, including a Best Picture Oscar, but which I absolutely hated, was The English Patient. Slow, overly melodramatic, and the characters were despicable.
Hands down, the worst movie I can remember seeing (and I watch A LOT of movies) is Swept Away.
Madonna is easily the worst actor ever and she proves it again with this worthless piece of crap. I thought she had reached a new low when she chewed through her lines in Die Another Day - the most recent Bond film, but she is so bad it's not even funny to watch.

Have to agree this is the worst movie ever. In fact it's so bad it's great! You have to see it just for laughs, it is surprisingly funny.

It was so bad, people started falling asleep in the theater and talking on their cell phones. No one cared anyway because no one could figure out what the hell the movie was about in the first place!

There are lots of bad campy films that become cult items. For me a movie to be really bad must come from a "reputable" source. I nominate for the worst movie from high profile people (Oliver Stone, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones) to be Natural Born Killers. I suppose there was supposed to be some satirical point to all this. But I found the characters so despicable I almost walked out. I was glad the damn thing was over.
Driven was bad...real bad. I actually liked Waterworld a lot. There was so much bad press about it before it even came out, that I don't think people really gave the movie a chance. I thought it was cool.
