Younger, unvaccinated people appear to be driving the latest uptick in Covid-19 cases.
You do understand how our immune systems work right?

You get sick
You get better

If you are not at risk for hospitalization (or worse) you really have no reason to get the vaccine

Even after being vaccinated you can still get sick (presumably with less severe consequences; we shall see)

I see, wow, Dr. Teejay. So please tell me how do you know HOW your immune system will react to COVID 19 the very first time you get it? Also, how do you know you do not have a hidden underlying condition which you or your doctor hasn't discovered yet? When was the last time you had a complete physical assessment, bloodwork, etc?

Do you believe all the folks who've passed on and there is a shit load of them and the one's who were hospitalized and went through hell thought, "hey, if I get COVID I'll be hospitalized and maybe die" or more like, "ah, I'll beat it, a few days or week and I'll be good as new"? I know what you're going to say because it's you and I don't expect anything coming from you to have any real work accuracy or common sense.

In your realm it's getting covid, get hospitalized and then ask for the vaccine. Yeah, sure, OKAY!!

Seriously I thought basketcase was the resident strawman what are you doing? You are supposed to just spam the threads with BS / false / misleading lol

The people who died of Covid have 2 or more underlying SERIOUS medical issues
Not only have they already been ID, most are being taken care of

The number of "surprise" issues is less than 5% of total Covid deaths

They are no different than a sudden heart attack
You think you are in ok health until one day it just happens

Netherlands suspends use of Vaxzevria Covid jab among under-60s ‘as a precaution’ after woman’s death

The Dutch Health Ministry said it has temporarily halted administering AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine, Vaxzevria, to people aged under 60 after a woman who had received one of the shots died.
In a statement on Friday, the ministry said the decision was made “as a precaution” on the heels of reports from Dutch drug monitoring agency Lareb which said it had received news of five blood-clot cases among women who had recently been given a shot of Vaxzevria, the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca.
The women, all aged between 25 and 65, had received the jab about 7 to 10 days beforehand.
“Three [of the five] patients had extensive pulmonary embolisms. One died and one also had a brain haemorrhage," Lareb said. “Another patient had extensive abdominal vein thrombosis. One patient developed a thrombosis of the arteries in the legs.”
The agency noted that within the period concerning the five complaints, around 400,000 people were given the vaccine, and the reports “appear to be comparable to other reports in Europe.”

41 Year Old Woman Suffers Unbearable Burning Red Rash On Body From AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 Vaccine

Leigh King, a 41-year-old woman in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, faced severe side effects after getting vaccinated from AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. She said, she is not able to look after her 13-year-old autistic son due to unbearable pain due to red rashes on face, arm, chest, legs and back.

As per Britain’s drug regulator, these rashes can be possible reaction to jab.

She got her 1st vaccine shot 2 weeks ago and felt such reaction just after getting vaccinated.

‘My skin was so sore and constantly hot,’ she said. ‘I have never felt pain like this… and to say it’s been the worst time of my life is an absolute understatement.’

She is the single carer for her autistic son, so she was invited for first vaccine dose. But now these burning rashes do not let her take care of her son.

Is AstraZeneca safe? Everything you need to know if you got the shot, or plan to
More than 300,000 doses have been given in Canada to date, but no blood clots linked to the vaccine have been found in this country

Health Canada greenlights U.S. batch of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine
You trying to join the disinfo campaigns eh?

Canada BANS AstraZenica for anyone under 55 due to bloodclots
Their reasoning is only the most at risk (aka death) should risk using it (old people)

Even your fav chubster chipped in

'We just won't use it, simple as that': Ford

Speaking to reporters in Niagara Falls, Ont., Ontario Premier Doug Ford said today that the province would follow NACI's guidance and reserve the current supply of AstraZeneca for those in the older cohort.

"I won't hesitate to cancel that in half a heartbeat. If it's going to put anyone in harm, we just won't use it, simple as that," he said, adding he didn't want to "roll the dice" by using AstraZeneca on a group that may have an outsized chance of developing complications.

"The guidance from the federal government is that it is safe for people over 55," Ford said. "I'm talking about younger people taking it, 35 years of age and in that range, that's where the problem is."

am I correct in my understanding that astra has 62% efficacy after the 2nd shot? Meaning you maybe get 30% or so after 1st shot?

Although 62% effective in preventing COVID it is proving to be very effective and preventing serious illness and death. I can deal with a sniffle provided I know my family and I are protected from hospitalization.

I do however if given a choice or by chance prefer J & J as my jab of choice based on the one-shot convenience and Pfizer or Moderna as the second choice this leaving AZ as my no choice must take shot.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS IT?
Data from clinical trials showed AstraZeneca was 62 per cent effective in preventing COVID infections, but it also prevented death and hospitalization in all participants who got the virus after receiving the vaccine.

Efficacy was a major talking point when AstraZeneca was first approved, with some comparing it to the 95 per cent efficacy shown in mRNA vaccine trials from Pfizer and Moderna. But experts have stressed that all the authorized vaccines offer excellent protection against severe disease.

Dr. Zain Chagla, an infectious disease expert with McMaster University, says when dosing regimens are factored in, AstraZeneca's efficacy rises to "70 to 80 per cent by the second dose, which is comparable to Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson."

Real-world data is emerging that may also suggest the efficacy of AstraZeneca's vaccine increases over a longer time interval between the first and second shot. Clinical trials used a four-week span between doses but some countries have been delaying second doses by several weeks.
