He should still get a trial, but clearly he represented a flight risk since ...well he already fled once!!!??? Duh.... besides.. it was a pretty serious crime.

I agree ! We could save a fortune in handcuffs (still innocent) and solve over crowding of jails. In fact - why do these cops disarm these suspects at all when they haven't been proven guilty ?

well.. not to give him credit but If his intention was to flee, he wouldn't have turned himself in on the first place. Authorities would still be on the hunt and probably without much clue who he is.

I had initially thought this was the guy who fled the scene after running over a bicycle rider a week ago.
