I'd take Stamkos first but only because there is no Sid. Watching Stamkos do a one-timer from the slot is reminiscent of Brett Hull in his prime

Hard to say who to take first first because there are very few stats for games of pond hockey with no hitting. Not sure who performs best under those conditions.

It sounds funny, but it's the truth. If you seriously want to make your best picks for an all-star game, the conditions under which the games are played has to be a determining factor. Players who thrive under physical conditions may not do as well as others, who in regular games, aren't as effective as they would be in non-contact situations.

i think points in the skills competition count as well. So you have to take that into consideration. Id go with Ovie still. He loves the spotlight and will light it up in the open ice. I know, not a surprise pick but thats what id do

This draft is so demeaning. Imagine being selected last on national tv. It is worst than "the lineup" at an MP. Absolutely disgusting!

I would pick one of the Sedin's first and then take the other Sedin next if the other team selects someome else.

I would have liked to have seen Jonathan Toews go last overall as a joke on him. Thought he acted pretty conceited

Not sure why was it necessary to give Kessel a car for being the last player selected but that draft was a pretty good idea. The girl in the red dress looked like she was trying to get a handful of every player.

At least Kessel got some kind of monetary trophy from the Leafs...he will never see Lord Stanley! Maybe he will name his car Stanley!

Nobody would be that stupid.......Wait a minute?
Come on. Its not that bad of a deal. Phil's on pace for at least 30 goals, again, this season for the Buds. And that's saying something because the Leafs are overall, pretty lousy.

Compare that to Tyler Seguin, 48 games played - 7 goals, 9 assist, total of 16 points.

I thought Kane was the conceited one, teasing him from the podium. It seemed like the two of them really dont like each other. Toews was getting a bit ticked and Kane loved every second of it.

Agreed.

The whole process on TSN was sad and embarrassing.
Duthie trying to interview each player.
Mackenzie and Maguire trying to "analyze" the picks. Pathetic.
TSN even had a 1/2 hour preview of the draft. Preview? What a waste of airtime.
And the whole thing took 2 hours? Should have taken 15 minutes.

This was actually more stupid than last years Lebron TV special.

As for Kessel being last?
Don't take it personally Leaf Nation.
It's actually doesn't mean anything.
Besides Kessel gets a $20000 to give charity and a new Ford Hybrid for himself (word is Kessel is also donating that car)
Good for Phil.
