I agree with many of the names listed.

However, I think an omission is Lenny Kravitz. He first hit it big in 1989, and 31 years later, he is still is a veritable rock god.

He doesn’t look like an old man desperately trying to hang onto his youthful glory. In fact, he looks like he’s still in his 30’s and he’s still landing magazine covers.

He might not have had the sheer commercial success of some of his contemporaries, but he won multiple Grammys and did play the SuperBowl halftime show.

I’m not a big Springsteen guy...but the last time he was at the ACC I went and enjoyed it, a three hour show in which he played his entire “The River” album and his other hits...I’d go again.
Most people discovered Bruce in the Born in the USA era. Which was a fantastic commercial album. It confirmed him as "the boss". But the Born to run album was really the one. Born to run is one fantastic song but no way near Thunder Road. For me this is his most accomplished song that can change you. That can leave a mark on you. It did the trick for me.

You are lucky to have attend a Bruce concert. Unfortunately I never did.

Has anyone on this board listened to music that wasn't recorded in the 70's? Based on this thread I'd put the average age of members at 55+

IMHO... bruce is the greatest rocker that ever lived! no live act can top him.
I saw him the first time he came to Toronto, shortly after Born To Run had Been released. He played a gymnasium at the Seneca Finch campus, the Seneca Field Hall. One set of doors, froze our asses off in the cold waiting in line as there was no reserved seating. Actually, no seating at all.

A friend dragged me to the show and the next day I went out and bought his 3 albums. I bought them at the long ago defunct Record Barn on Dufferin, immediately south of Yorkdale.

A member of Duran Duran eh...Rock God?
To me a rock god has many aspects. Imagine how much pussy Duran Duran got in their heyday? And Taylor happens to be a very underrated bass player. Who wants to join a band like Rush or Dream Theater, where all your fans are nerdy guys and neck beards? Id want to be in Van Halen or GnR or Duran Duran. Sex, drugs and rock and roll... Funny that the first name on my list was against the drugs and party lifestyle.
