It's not the sort of thing you'd find in Wikipedia.
Then how would you know unless you actually lived there?
Sandra, I've never lived there, but I do know some of the goings on there. How I come about this my business. Sometimes it's not always necessary to ask why? or to try and dispell the information that is given. There are exact stats, but you don't need to see them and are not for public consumption. I've never lived in the Jane and Finch area of Toronto, but I know this area by reputation, some of the goings on in this area makes the 6 o'clock news and that's only what we see on the news or makes the news. There are far more goings on there that the public are blissfully unaware of.
Like alot of things that happen, they don't always make the 6 o'clock news. These days it has to be a pretty slow news day or something extreme to bump another story. The Durham region-Oshawa/Whitby/Ajax/Pickering- doesn't get much in the area of print journalism or tv journalism, so unless it's something that is worthy of bumping Tom and Katie from the lead story at 6 o'clock, your not going to hear about it.
As I see you now know why Femme knows her stuff. You'll find on TERB that you don't always need to be on the offensive, disputing what you read and attacking the source. You can read something and take it with a grain of salt, dispell it because the source is notriously wrong or is known to exaggerate the facts or take it for what it is.
Cheers
