RIM doesn't have a dismal fate yet.
Apple products are very restrictive, many apps are plain garbage.
Android is coming along quite well but may have oracle issues to deal with.

Lastly the technology is all bullshit repackaged crap that mindless morons buy into.

If you can pickup email on your phone and make phone calls thats all you need, save your money and do something better with it.

Actually one of the apps that i use more than most is the compass, especially driving in unfamiliar cities or the outer GTA, on rain cloudy days or at night.

I have both. For email/texting/messaging, the advantage of a BB is that little red light that flashes when you have a message waiting. I really wish the iPhone had that silent notifier. The type of text input - real vs virtual keyboard - is a matter of personal preference. Play with both in-store or at a friend's until you are clear which one you prefer. If I used a phone strictly for messages (ie. no apps, no internet), I would have only the BB.

My android also has a flashing notifier. So does the up coming galaxy nexus, but I can't speak for all android phones.

It should tell you something how many of the crack berry users have had to get an iPhone.....

RIM is dead - iPhone or Android are the only sensible options.

There is only one right answer : iPhone. Check that out. While the droids might claim faster chips et al : none can compare with the iOS5. Without that its like you driving an ML350 with a dodge neon engine. Go figure!

Had all three. Android is pretty good. Yeah lot's of free apps if you don't mind ads slowing them down 200%.

NOTHING comes close to an Apple. NOthing. It's that simple. It's a pretty damn good talking phone too. The Android App market doesn't compare to the Apple Apps. It'slike minor and major league. After an Iphone, every other phone felt like kissing your sister,

I think some people get too excited about a cellphone.
"Misterbrainwash" picked a good User name.

That may have been true once upon a time, but there's virtually no useful/popular apps that are not available for android. That argument no longer holds water and is thrown out often by people who don't know any better.
As for ads slowing down the phone, I've never noticed that ever. Again it might be something from older phones, but the recent ones don't have this.

The iphone has many great features and is certainly an excellent phone but exactly the same thing can be said about android. There's no "right" answer here, it's up to personal preference because really they are both about as good as each other. I have a personal preference for the android because I like to be able to plug in my phone to my PC and do what I like (like a thumb drive) and not have to use a specific piece of software (itunes). For others that may not be a factor.

That and soon they will join the Palm Pilot in the technology museum.

Yup... My Bold goes for DAYS of heavy use, without a charge. Security is a huge issue to me as well since I am often emailing client's confidential data.

Having said that, the teeny-boppers who seem to be buying the phones these days, couldn't give a rat's ass about either of these things.

I'm sorry but as a blackberry user I don't "have" to get an iPhone. That is what my laptop is for.

Reality is I will say it like this:

How often do you drop your phone/have it slip out of your pocket?
Are you in dusty or dirty environments?
Do you have an active lifestyle including during hours you would be carrying your phone?

The Torch bounces (first gen), as did the curve... MUCH better then any of the iPhones. Oh don't get me wrong... I like their apps but for that? That is why I have a laptop.

The Android phones are not bad overall... but lack that which I like about the blackberry.

In the end... You will do what suits your life best but please note that more than one person who used a blackberry, and switched to an iPhone are figuring their next won't be an iPhone if they are business users as it is too much of a play toy and not rugged enough for what they do.

Oh and one other key thing to note... iPhones have a touch sensitive screen. Sensitive to scratches... Blackberry has a HEAT sensitive screen. Much more resilient.

I use a blackberry because it suits my needs and I'm a creature of habit.

My friend's iphone has pretty cool apps though. RIM needs to smarten up and get into the app game.

Iphones seem great for women, they seem to love them, simpletons,"Android" sounds like a childs video game, think i will stick with my BB.

Running my business,it does what i need it to do,apps i dont know, seems the kid angle again.

The new Bold Touch (9900) is great except for the button that keeps falling off many peoples phone. Get it fixed BB and maybe 2012 you can make a comeback.

Why didn't you just post a thread "what kind of phone do you have and explain why people who have other phones are idiots?" You would have got the same answers!

I am a tried and true I Phone user. I am technologically retarded so I need something simple and easy to use. The I Phone is like having a phone and mini computer all in one.
