I do not know about the wings, but their fried chicken is actually quite good

Man, wings from Buffalo are overated. I've had better in the T dot. Just my experience.
I 100% agree wit ya. I tried a few places down there and was like..... is that it?

I also think the TdotO has better quality wings. Ours are alot less greasy and not covered in fat. I think it's because the U.S has a alot less quality control with their foods and they can get away with serving grade-B/C/D chicken and charge next to nothing for it. Maybe that's why you'll get soooo much more food fer yer buck down there. Back in 1992 when I was in NYC we went to Popeye's chicken and I swear, they had this special where they gave you 7 pieces of chicken, 2 rolls, large box of fries and a liter of pepsi all for $2.49....Hahaha.... I took one bite and my spidey sences started to tingle. I guess it might'ov been because a few pieces were shaped like a octagone.lol

I ended up giving the rest to a homeless guy outside the restaurant. My (greedy) friend ate all 7 pieces and for the next 2days he was keeled over on a toilet with food poisoning, hahaha, I warned him not to eat it.

For wings/ribs I'd reccomend The Purple Pig on yonge/ richmond or for home delivery 3-4-1 at 416-341-8888.

I second DUFF'S wings. Not crazy about Hooters... I think they're overrated. DUFF'S originated in Buffalo NY. That place was a must hit almost on a bi-weekly basis when I was in College. Now one TO guy finally managed to convice DUFF'S NY to franchise the restaurant and the only location other than Buffalo, NY is on Bayview, south of Eglinton.

The Hot & Jerk style PC wings are comparable if not better than standard pub wings. Perhaps we should bring some good take-out wings to sessions... But then your hands wouldn't be on the joystick...Ha, ha

J-luvr, are you talking about Bree @ downtown Hooters? IMO, she and Kathy? are the only half decent Hooter girl there. Wings there are pub standard.

Flyingdgn, I heard St Louis on Ave rd was rated among best in T.O by Now Mag few years ago.

We did an downtown Wings search as we didn't have much to do at work back in those days. There were only 2 that was considered good. Forgot the names.

Yes many of the boxed wings taste like many of wings I have had all over the US and Canada. Seems you can get crappy tasting wings in most every city.

Try "Club OV" which is on the north side of the Queensway, two blocks east of Kipling. Great wings and good cheap lunches.

Actually, it's two guys. Twin brothers own it here.

gets my vote - I had them last night - good combo of being cooked but not overcooked. Also ordered garlic honey just for fun - I would stick with the regualr wings - medium is nicely hot
Had the wings at Duff's Pizzeria in St. Catharines last night ... I couldn't stop eating. They were fantastic ... meaty, saucy ... perfect!

The Jerk Timid are great, the jerk hot are pretty good but pretty hot and the Lousiana Wings are fantastic. The only thing is that you can't really follow the cooking instructions as the wings won't come out nice and browned.

Somethings are worth repeating. Funny Flyindgn would mention MDS wings as it was my first time to SC many, many yrs ago. Few buiness associates I met up with while delivering in the area, dragged me there for lunch. Ok, so I was pulling on my own shirt to go for a look. We ended up with a 3 hr lunch and work was looking for me as I had some urgent package in the trunk. The wings were surprisingly good for pub standard. Although the line-up was avg.

I had some of the best wings, ever, at a little bar on the northwest side of Rochester anout 15 yrs ago. They were a nice sweet taste, instead of that melt your tongue stuff....and they were huge too....too bad that bar is gone now...

The St Louis' Wings at Leslie/York Mills is much better than the one at yonge/finch.

Turtle Jacks

in Mississauga on Hwy 10 just north of 407.
Order the TJ roosters dusted.

I've tasted Anchor Bar Buffalo, Turtle Jack, Duffs and St. Louis. IMHO, Anchor Bar and turtle Jack are neck and neck; the former's wings roosted longer and therefore leaner but somewhat dryer. The meat at Duff doesn't taste quite as fresh as the other two. St. Louis wings remind me too much of frozen food.
