Horrible advice, as expected.
Actually any used of mask it better then not wearing any mask! Mask do offer protection ( any protection is better then no protection) .Realities what you suggest the person do with the mask he bought from China? Throw it away?

I would not trust any mask that is made in China! Since you already bought mask from China, I strongly suggest you you wear two mask at the same time( double mask wearing).
Everything made from China is junk! Didn't you hear latest quality control that Canada bought N95 mask from China is substandard quality!
Canada refused to paid full price for it and they not using those substandard mask in Hospital!

In theory I agree with you. Given the chance to buy stuff made elsewhere I’d avoid those made in China. However, I searched high and low and couldn’t find masks made outside of China. Even the 3M N95 I got in January were made in China. If you know sources for masks made outside of China, do share.

Here's how I remove my gloves.

1) Rub some hand sanitizer on the palm of both gloves. If sanitizer is not readily available, use beer and/or whiskey.

2) Use your left hand to carefully remove the right glove from the fingertips.

3) With your bare right hand, take the pair of pliers from your bum pocket. Use the pliers to gently loosen the finger and thumb tips on the left glove. Remove glove.

4) Again using the pliers, grab and place the gloves under your UV lamp. Remove after 1 hour hour.

After the gloves are removed and properly incinerated in the backyard incineration pit, fill the bathtub with hot water and 1 liter of bleach. Submerge yourself completely using a non plastic straw as a breathing apparatus. If your wife and kids refuse to participate, send them to the grandparents. After walking your dog, shoot it- preferably right next to the incineration pit. To prevent the possible spread through wifi, shut down the main breaker, empty the freezer and wait inside for the vaccine. Safety first!

Look at the website it just regular facemask with ear loop ( look like regular facemask/ surgical type mask) not N95. Personally I wear only N95 mask made in USA. Not really impressed with this type of mask.

But if you have N95 mask made from China or any K95 mask you probably best is wear those one underneath and then put the regular facemask / surgical type face mask with the ear loop on top of the N95 mask. Double protection.

Also seen medical doctor wearing the N95 mask underneath the surgical face mask.( wearing two mask at the same time) . Reason they are only given one N95 per shift and they wear surgical face mask on top of the N95 mask. Once they see a patient they removed and throwaway the surgical face mask . After each patient they see. Then put a new surgical face mask on top of the N95 mask while they still wearing the N95 mask.

Thanks for the link. The reviews are generally positive and considering it’s Canadian made, I’ll give it a try when I need to restock. However, $400 for 200 masks seems excessively high.

Save your money and buy any N95 / KN95 respirator instead of the surgical masks. The surgical masks mostly protect others from your breath. They. leak a lot around the edges so plenty of air bypasses the filter media.

Whereas a respirator that seals around your face/mouth/nose protects you from breathing in the breath of others.

It’s my understanding that for general public use, good quality 3 layer surgical masks are good enough. The N95 is for medical personnel who come into close contact with infected patients. I was lucky to have ordered a few boxes of N95 from 3M just before they ran out and I gave away half of it to a couple of relatives who are medical professionals.

The following is a link for N95 from a Canadian company 72 Hours. I’ve ordered from them before and the quality was very good. The N95 is priced at over $5 a piece and made in China :

AFAIK, N95 masks were never manufactured in Canada. And there is no "permit" or blessing required to source products from around the world. Unless you are talkng about Free Trade Agreements, then yes, that is a "blessing".

Quite simply, there is not enough domestic need in normal times for N95 masks to have a manufacturing plant set up to produce these in a pandemic. These and many medications are supposed to be stockpiled in a strategic reserve. They did just that after SARS.

There WAS a government stockpile of masks and PPE that "expired" and was thrown out by some bureaucrat. THAT, the stupidity of the bureaucracy, is a big problem. The stockpile was in a climate controlled warehouse, they are packaged in plastic and so unless they got wet and moldy, they should have inspected them before throwing them in the landfill.
It’s the elastic bands that are attached to the mask that are the reason for the expired masks, the rubber starts to dry out and the elastic bands can snap.

Ok, well if "good enough" is "good enough" for you and your family....

But seriously... surgical masks have far too much leakage.

You don't know when somebody coming the other (wrong) way down the grocery aisle is gonna cough. And that is the scenario where you are at risk.

LOL! I also had a full (expired) case on hand in a warehouse and gave away all but 20.

I'd go with the full sealing respirator. type myself.

I simply replace the elastic bands. Not a big deal. Easily done.

N95 masks are respirators and should only be worn by medical professionals or personal in areas where aerosol toxins need to be filtered along with eye protection. They should not be worn by the general public who do not need them for jogging and grocery shopping etc, a general public that does not wear eye protection for the most part either. I see the general public wearing filthy soiled non fitted N95 masks, soiled gloves which is not good but is it better than nothing ? Who knows but it is currently in vogue.

Ordered masks at the beginning of April from 3 different online sources abroad and I have yet to receive them. Problems at customs is my guess.

I'm still using the crappy and expensive masks I bought at Rotblott's in March. They friggin' charged me $20 for a pack of 10. Bought 2 packs and I knew I was being ripped off when I handed the salesperson my money. Don't think I'll ever shop at this store ever again. It's just criminal, the law of supply and demand during a pandemic.

The main reason is that, due to a severe shortage of PPE including masks in the Canadian and US hospitals (and world-wide), health officials including Dr. Fauci and Dr. Tam etc advised the public not to use the life-saving N95 masks and leave them for the frontline medical staff who were risking their lives to save other covid-19 patients. The shortage was so severe that at one time, most hospitals were asking medical staff to reuse their masks and even suggesting the use of home-made masks or a bandana.

"Why" don't you read the manufacturers instructions as to "why" one should wear an N95 mask if you cannot figure out along with the legal disclaimer.
