Where should I visit in the US?

I love visiting the US, I've travelled more extensively throughout Europe and the rest of the world than I have in the US, so I'd like to visit more places there. So far I've been to Alaska, Maine, Rhode Island, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Orlando. The next place I'd like to go is Vegas, and then to California, Arizona, and Texas. I'd like to return to Alaska, NYC and Chicago.

Any recommendations on where else I should go?

I liked San Francisco.

Never been to Vegas. They say you need to see it, but nothing about it appeals to me.

Looks like you have not visited the southern US, except for Florida. The places I like in the southern states are SC, Georgia and Louisiana. The history is very rich, there are some great historical places to visit and some great places to eat.

+1 for San Francisco.

Add a couple days and drive down through Monterey/Big Sur...keep going all the way down to Santa Monica. Skip the rest of LA.

What interests you and what time of the year are you thinking of going?

Certainly the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park come to mind, likewise Yellowstone.

A very interesting trip is to fly to Phoenix, and then tour the indian country, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, 4 states etc etc. Spectacular scenery

You can't run out of things to do in northern California. Consider visiting Yosemite if heading into the mountains is your thing. Probably one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world.

Here is ia place that I visited as a kid, I plan to return there one day. It is Mammoth Caves Ky. They use to have 5 hour tours where you walk in the caves and see underground lakes where they have blind fish, water falls inside the caves. All sorts of cave formations, There was even a dead Indian they put in glass. I was told the tours are now shortened to 2 hours.

+2 for San Francisco. The drive down Pacific Coast highway is great but do not go now. It is generally cold and raining.

Texas. Buy guns and liquor via a drive through, and use them both before you get home.

Just kidding. I recommend San Francisco, and the drive down to Monterey, etc.

Hawaii, you'll never want to go anywhere else.
Never was there myself but know plenty who were stationed there they said the first couple of months were great, then it was doesn't the weather ever change, and by the time a year was up it was I'll go to Alaska, Cold Lake, Moose Jaw, Thule anywhere that has seasons.

Lots of votes for the Bay Area, and I would agree. A less obvious choice, but another of my favourites is Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Then go to the Big Island, it has 11 of the 12 climates

Hawaii, San Fran (actually NoCal from Mendicino down to Monterey Bay and Big Sur... You could spend months there and never run out of things to do.

Actually there are hundreds of cool places to go, from San Antonio, Charleston, Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, Savanah, Miami, Key West....
