A little off topic, but perhaps some of you will enjoy this as much as I did.

Anyone remember Battledome? It was kinda like American Gladiators with some pro wrestling elements thrown in. It came on the air in 1999.
For some reason it came to mind recently, was able to find a full episode on Youtube and got a lot of laughs out of it. Pretty cheesy, and just very funny seeing the contestants getting fucked up by the over-the-top "warriors".

Like here's a favorite moment: For the final event, the contestants need to try to put a ball through a hoop while a warrior in boxing gloves just punches and kicks the shit out of them.
This green contestant was in last place, seemingly pretty disheartened as his flailing attempts keep getting shut down, as his wife watches on, pussy drying up.

One more:
Comedians Patrice O'Neal and Bill Burr on the Opie and Anthony Show revisiting some funny wrestling promos.
Highlights include Booker T accidentally using the N-word, and the Shockmaster debacle.

I was out of touch. When I watched Fighting with my Family, I didn't know who Paige Knight was. Excellent collaboration between Stephen Merchant and Rocco, getting the film made. Flower in the title role was awesome.

maybe the older we get the crankier we become :p but yeah, I tend to agree that wrestling was funner back in the days ...
really miss all the colorful personalities, maybe that's why Enzo Amore was one of my favorite in recent decade, eventhough he's not a great (or even good?) wrestler, but definitely an interesting, colorful personality

I didn't know they held wrestling events at Flushing Meadows, the AEW Dynamite Event at Arthur Ashe Stadium is sold out while WWE Summerslam at MSG is seeing sluggish ticket sales.

Vince McMahon allowed Chris Jericho to leave, expecting him to honour an agreement that he would not compete against them for a year. Naturally he reneged, not that I believe AEW will supplant WWE but VinnyMac needs competition.

True, Vince/WWE needs competition ... not just for wrestling in general, but to give them motivation to improve as well ... and yeah, I don't see AEW supplanting (or even coming close) to WWE.
Vince has that business sense as well, he knows wrestling (?? questionable at times) and the business side as well.

I hated Greg Valentine as a kid... watching him talk about the old days... I have so much respect for him now.

I remember the old days of territorial wrestling...more variety and I think more interesting.

Fighting with my Family is a must see film - Paige is hot. Charlotte Flair is physically bigger than Paige, it was an act of faith on her part, trusting that Paige wouldn't injure her (No.4).

AEW sign Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

Vince McMahon treated Chris Jericho poorly - it was a mistake. Jericho went to New Japan, in a bid to honour his agreement with VinnyMac, then he signed with AEW. VMac chose to push Dave Bautista instead, who's built an acting career from it. It looks like the WWE has legit competition.

The two best workers in pro wrestling...enjoy!
