depends how drunk I am
I'm sure this topic has been brought up in the past on this forum, but I don't recall it being in a thread during the 3 months that I've been on TERB....so here goes- What is your 3 favourite TV comedy shows of all time?

My picks:

1) The Simpsons- brilliant writers and so many levels of humour. Laughs for kids and grown ups.

2) Seinfeld- again, great writers w/ a good mix of dialogue/ situational and physical (Kramer) humour

3) Three's Company- A guy living w/ 2 hot women. What more is there to say? :p

What are your picks?

If favourite means that it makes me laugh out loud (even when I'm watching by myself) then these would be it:

Simpsons
Family Guy
Malcolm in the Middle

I'm sure there were older shows that may have been just as good (Police Squad!, maybe?), but I have a short memory. I blame TV.

Seinfeld: Still fucking funny!

South Park: Started off strong, then sort of petered out for a season or two but the last two or three seasons have been great!!!
Anybody catch the homage to anime episode!!!

Simpsons: Used to be great and I can still watch the older episodes but I think the Simpsons have jumped the shark. They gotta to retire the show!!!

Futurama: Bender rules!!!

Family Guy: Stewie rules!!

Get a Life: Was that with Chris Elliot? That was pretty fucking funny. Fox came out with some great shows that didn't seem to catch on. Anybody watch the Ben Stiller show? That was pretty funny.

Mr Show: Pretty friggin funny.

Night Court: Loved it as a kid but probably not so much now!!! Still had some great times watching it!!!

Cheers: Classic!!!

In Living Colour: Some classic sketches!!

King of Queens: That fat guy is pretty damn funny!!!

Saturday Night Live: When Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey and the crew were on; SNL was at its best. Now its mediorce at best but mostly it just sucks!!!!

Larry Sanders wasn't too bad...

Brit comedies:

Thought Black Adder was hilarious...

There also was a show called the "Statesman" (I think it was called that) with Rick Myall (I think that was his name) Anyways, it was about a Tory MP during the Thatcher years who just tried to con and swindle his way through his political life. Lot of laffs...

for me it's easy:

1. WKRP in Cincinnati (I thought turkeys could fly)
2. The Wonder Years (Kevin was a dick but his father and brother were funny and his sister was cute)

The bad news is that it's not very likely that either will be released on DVD due too all the music licencing fees that would have to be paid. Both series relied heavily on very useful and relevant music, especially The Wonder Years. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

I loved this show when I was younger and the music was great. I don't know if they will ever release this on DVD but over the years I've converted a lot of episodes from my satellite to computer and made it into DVD. I have the first 5 seasons made to DVD with menus and chapters and almost done the 6th and final season. Check out my list if you are interested: http://movies.mabaho.com

Sitcom would have to be Seinfeld with WKRP in Cinncinnati and All in the Family as honourable mentions. For sketch comedy, Chapelle's Show.

mabaho? cool name pare!! though as you suggest on your page, only our kababayans would understand.

The Wonder Years definitely kicked ass and I'm glad to see that you have it on DVD. The best I can do at the moment is watch it at 4:00pm on CTS. Of course the music is still intact but they always mute out the words damn, hell and God.

Thanksgiving episode of KRP is one of the funniest ever. Kevin was a dick?
That WKRP episode is probably not my favourite but is a classic. Come to think of it, I'm not sure which KRP episodes are my favourite.

Kevn was often times a dick. The way he treated Paul and sometimes the way he treated Winnie. Still though, it's a great show. Yesterday's episode on CTS was the "Whatever you say, Ken" episode.
