Is Katz's on Dufferin the same as the one in NY?

No relation that I know of--the name's the same but the signs, advertising and menu are completely different. The one on Dufferin is okay, but not as good as Caplansky's or Moe Pancer's (is that still around?) in my opinion.

Would you pay $26 CDN. for a Carnegie Deli pastrami sandwich. ( sandwich only - no fries or pickle )

I did because of the popularity but it was overrated. I wouldnt buy it again.

Pancer's is still around. The family sold to some real idiot who defaulted, and now the family has repurchased it. They moved a bit south, but still north of Wilson.

Had it. It is good for about 3 meals.

BTW, the Stage Deli (NYC) has very good meat.

Centre Street Deli in Thornhill is the only close deli if you can't make it to Montreal .
