This was the guy to beat Trump.
But the DNC fucked him.
too funny
you still do not get the fact this election was a rejection of the left
and you think the democrats would have done better with Bernie the socialist / commie?

She lost because of the genocide.
Why do you think 15 million people that voted for Biden just decided to stay home?
Yet in the 2020 election 11 million more people decided to not stay at home and vote Trump at the same time that 15 million more people came out to vote for Biden but wouldn't do the same for Hilary.

Both are populists.
Bernie was more real and authentic than Hillary or Kamala.
Many Sanders voters eventually became Trump voters.

Nothing real or authentic about Bernie. He showed his true colors a long time ago.
If Trump political career taught us anything it’s that real or authentic is not worth shit. Gild sells a lot better than gold.

My comment was about Bernie not Trump. But glad to see Trump living rent free in your head. I'm not a Trump supporter but Bernie makes himself out to be for the people when clearly he isn't.

What went wrong?

I read an article that asked Americans, what are your top issues and who of the two candidates is better to manage them?

#1. The economy. They picked Trump.
#2. Jobs. They picked Trump.
#3. Immigration. They picked Trump.
#4. Abortion. They picked Harris.

The top three issues carried the night. Most people don't need an abortion, while they do need a job and a good economy. Nearly half of voters said they're worse off now than they were four years ago and Trump won them overwhelmingly. Voters didn't trust Harris and the Dems, who overplayed their hand with woke policies, to manage the economy.

It's almost as if the Republicans are now the party of the working class and the Dems are the party of the elites.

Fasten your seatbelt, it's going to be bumpy ride.

I'm interested in seeing the voting breakdown by age groups. I think the Democrats assumed they would get a huge majority among first-time voters, but that was another miscalculation.

I also agree with @JohnLarue that this election was more of a rejection of the Left as opposed to an endorsement of the Right.

Here's a breakdown of the demographic vote: https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2024/politics/2020-2016-exit-polls-2024-dg/

What's interesting is younger Gen Z voters and female voters broke heavily for Trump, but senior citizens didn't.
And the mainstream media predicted the exact opposite would happen.
Also Kamala got less female votes than Hillary or Biden

???

one would be hard pressed to pick two candidates who are greater polar political opposites than Trump vs Sanders
on the surface Bernie seems to be a decent / compassionate man, who would create an economic disaster (socialists / commies do that)
Bernie is more real and authentic than the two faced elitist Hillary or the empty suit / plastic / word salad spewing Kamala. You are correct on this one point
Nice guy, however does not have an economic clue
Trump has an offensive/ abrasive personality, who is pro business and will drive economic growth

voters generally do not switch from socialist / commie to pro business
socialist / commies tend to go berserk at the mere mention of Trumps name, they hate and despise the rich/ business and by nature are idealists rather than pragmatic or practical
socialist / commies also tend to be lifers void of the ability to compromise or learn from the past

are you convinced a whole generation of misguided socialists/ commies gained maturity and economic wisdom in eight years ?
i do not think so

they might be hilariously funny and entertaining jokes... if they were communicated properly

Oh please.. tax breaks to keep producing in the US will help Americans...what has Joe and kamala done?
If you haven't noticed...the new "Reason to Hate Trump if you're Canadian" is this impending doom about tariffs.

Just ignore it...everything else they tried failed and they're trying to find new things to scare people with.

We should be more concerned about all the celebrities that are threatening to leave the US. Lol!

Exactly.
In 2020 it was Hitler vs the old establishment guy.
In 2024 it was 100% Hitler vs 99% Hitler and 15 million dems just couldn't vote for any kind of a Hitler.

The dems that stood against the genocide did well.

They are polar opposites.
That is why Bernie would be a good counter to Trump.
One is a left wing populist and the other a right wing populist.
Trump is not pro-business.
Pro-business would mean he would encourage profits over people.
He wants tariffs instead.
Which will make everything expensive for the manufacturer and the consumer.
He is a protectionist.
So he is not an economic genius either.
Bernie proposes more public spending (particularly healthcare) and taxation of corporations.
I support that, but beyond a line it may also not be economically sound to do so.
So the similarity is that both of their messaging is for the working class and the middle class.
Both reject the elites and challenge the establishment.
That messaging will resonate.
That is certainly more substantive than the vapid and performative messaging that the Dems currently resort to.
This is not a rejection of the left as you put it.
Going by that rule 2020 was a rejection of the right. (No I dont believe in the coo coo for coco puffs election fraud conspiracy theory. Biden won fair and square).
This has more to do with messaging that directly addresses the economy and everyday problems people face.
The democrats currently are disconnected from this.

Whoa, Arab American voters voted for one of their own? Crazy if true. In other news, you need new material. Were there tons of Arab voters in NC, Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania too?

No use talking to Frankfooter about this election.
It is his tactic turning every thread into an Israel thread.
He will keep pushing his little theory that Americans voted Harris out because of Gaza.
Americans couldn't give a shit about Gaza.
Except for a tiny minority.

15 million people who voted for Biden didn't vote at all this time.
Abandon Harris and people that just couldn't cross the red line of voting for genocide.
