Star Wars is garbage, it peaked with The Empire Strikes Back, it's been a formulaic shit show ever since. Having said that, I'm comforted knowing that R2D2 is a lesbian.

The Offer is on Paramount+ and YT TV, it has an 8.6/10 rating on IMDB. It's a limited series about the making of The Godfather from the memoirs of Producer Albert Ruddy. It has a very talented cast with Miles Teller as Ruddy, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Copolla, Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzzo and Justin Chambers as Marlon Brando.

I'm just into the second season of The Americans on Crave (FX). It's based on two Soviet spies who were planted into American society during the Cold War. I can't believe it was cancelled after six season because of low ratings. I don't know how true the events are but the series is totally engrossing.

The Americans came to it's logical conclusion, the show was overall FUCKIN AWESOME.

Joel McHale didn't want to be stereotyped as Jeff Winger (Community).

I think it's totally fictitious. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 6 years was enough.

I just started watching Ripley. I'm confident that I will like it.

Those About to Die:

The ten episodes were released on Thursday, July 18, reportedly with a budget of $140 Million.

The show is set in Rome, 79 AD. Anthony Hopkins is the Emperor. The Show is about chariot races, gladiators, and political intrigue.

I've just seen the first episode, and I'll continue watching. I preferred Starz' Spartacus, but this is my next binge of a new show.

The trailer for this is one of the few videos on YouTube I didn't skip. It looks great and I didn't realize it has premiered.

I think I'll have to give it a watch at some point this weekend!

I've also been watching Mindhunter on Netflix and I'm about half-way through the first season. I'm not used to seeing Jonathan Groff in this type of role!

Forensic Files on Samsung TV Plus. I'm also watching Bay Watch over and over, as well as Unsolved Mysteries. Also with throw on COPS once in a while.

I love this Samsung TV and all these old school shows they have. The nostalgia is awesome.

This was at the beginning of July.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was dark, suspenseful, some violence but it was brutally portrayed. You felt like you were there. Intricate plot but written perfectly. I didn't see any holes in the plot.

It seemed the artful way they filmed it totally matched with all the works of art shown. And filming in black and white helped set the dark theme of the movie. It takes place around 1961, mainly in Italy and again, they captured the feel of that time so well.

Highly recommended. It is both fine and refined cinema. Not sure if IV has seen. It seems that it would be right up his cinephile alley.

The Kids Are Alright:

This show was on ABC, Tuesday nights opposite NCIS in the 2018-19 network season, cancelled after one season/ 23 episodes. I had never heard of this show before someone requested it on torrentday. It is or was streaming on Amazon. I've watched and enjoyed the first four episodes.

In style, it's similar to The Wonder Years, 'nostalgia with hindsight' narrated by the adult version a central character. This is a filmed 'funny drama' about a Catholic family in the summer of 1972 who have eight sons. The show had 97% fresh reviews on rottentomatoes, but viewers' numbers dropped to about half between the premiere and the finale.

I like the 'single camera' filmed comedies as opposed to sitcoms with a laugh track, be it canned or from a non-impartial audience at a taping. After Seinfeld, I didn't enjoy any comedies with a laugh track, so I rarely watch CBS.
