What is it with guys who want me to be technical support?!

I'm an escort. My job is to answer calls send information and do the deed when they get here and show them a good time. My job does not however, include teaching people how to internet. Lol

Everyday I have to teach people simple things to do with the internet and people ask me for links to a number of different things. I don't mind doing that so much... But then I get these guys that can't navigate a simple website, have no idea who they are talking to or have no idea what a hyperlink is. It's so frustrating. I'm not technical support. It's not in my job description. I can't even bring myself to be nice to these people. They're so enfuriating. They waste so much of my time. I don't know how real technical support deal with it everyday. I really can't make things any simpler.

I wouldn't mind so much if they were a paying customer. But i have no guarantees that wasting all that time with these people is going to pay off. They're literally going to an escort for free tutorials.

Different jobs requires different skill sets. You become efficient and know how to explain things as simply as possible. SinnamonFairbanks, you can suggest a youtube video that explains things or just tell them it's not your specialty and change subjects.

Lots of old neo-luddites out there. It's a brave new world.

That's actually a really good idea. I should make a web tutorial! I thought about it for a minute though and I'd probably have to explain how to use that too. If they can't figure out how to get to my website when all of my ads contain my website... I don't really think there is any hope for them. Half of the time I just think they're trolling me.

Have to wonder how they are finding you if they don't know how to Internet? :D
Exactly! They had to us BP to get to my ad and get my number. What kills me is they ask for photos and there are photos in my ad and on my website. Everything is pretty well interconnected. It's so easy to get all of the information they need if they just look. I can understand if it's difficult to find... But they're putting zero effort in. Some guys don't even know who they're talking to, I send them all of the info that's available online and they still ask me for a description or to send photos. It's so time consuming. It really doesn't verify I'm a real person like some people believe. I could just copy and past the same fake picture through a text. They ask me for info.. I tell them to go to my website... They say they can't find it... If I even bother sending the link, they can't open it or they tell me my website isn't working or they can't find it. ZERO effort on their part and they want me to walk them through everything. Then they get mad that I don't want to bother helping them when all they're doing is wasting a bunch of my time. I know how it goes every single time. The website was created to reduce the amount of time I spend texting the same information... But it's brought on a whole new set of problems. It's worse than teaching my mom how to use Facebook. She has a very basic understanding of the internet. She thinks I'm some kind of expert. I'm just not bad at it. Lol

It comes down to laziness. They can do it, they just want you to tell them so it's faster for them. Tell them they will never learn if they don't do it on there own and let them know they can't break it so go ham lol

Welcome to the world of business ownership. Your job description no longer consists of a task or set of tasks. The job description is now marketing your product/business and doing whatever you need to do to attract, maintain and appease clients and potential clients.

Only you can decide what you are willing to do for your business. But it's not anything that every other business owner doesn't have to deal with as well.

Interesting. She can offer a tutorial coupled with a session (just kidding, but she may actually attract clientele who are appreciative of her complimentary advice or help).
