I don't know very much about liquor since I just drink the odd beer here and there.
But, anyway, I've had a couple of liquors lately that I enjoyed, (Disaronno, and Sambuka) and I'm wondering what else is good out there for straight shots.

Preferably something with an intriguing or fascinating flavour that you can reflect on and helps contribute to easy flowing, loquacious conversation in the room.
Also, something that you can drink straight or with just a couple of ice cubes in a glass since I like simplicity.
Thanks.

When I drank, I was a little more primitive than the refined suggestions above. I liked frozen vodka out of the freezer. Turned a little viscous and was divine. Once, I took the frozen bottle out of the freezer and took a swig. Bad idea, stuck to my lips. In shock I pulled it away, the skin on my lips went with it, and the vodka poured into the open wounds. Stung like heck. My GF at the time found it highly amusing. She also thought it hilarious when I caught my penis in the zipper and drew blood. I sometimes think that women have a different sense of humour to we men.

If the purpose is to get buzzed/pissed/shit face, try Spirytus, a very clean neutral tasting vodka from Poland. In the US it's available in mind fucking 95%, but at the LCBO, they drop it bak to 76%. i was introduced ot it at New Years. in your favourite mix you will never know what hit you, very sneaky drink.

If that's not the point, I like Drambuie or Grand Marnier blue.

I've been enjoying Crown Royal Black, on the rocks, of late.

Anything but tequila. Seems like a good idea at the time. It never is!

Cabo wabo tequila....try it once and you and you'll never try another tequila ever
People have to give good tequila a chance. I mentioned Patron which due to its price makes it usually cost prohibitive but worth it. Never had Cabo Wabo but given your recommendation, it must be at least smoother than the Cuervos and Sauzas of the world. Those 2 brands give tequila its bad reputation.

Generally I'm all for a nice tequila or sake but lately I've been working on a couple of really nice bottles of baijiu that were given to me as gifts and I am really enjoying them. Not the easiest bottles to find but definitely something I'd look for again.
