It was another failed attempt at being funny today (twice so far).

You have changed and resized your avatar more in the last few days than most people have posted. I thought I was being funny (note the lol) because it's the same one as yesterday.

I had Rogers for a few years and eventually gave up on it - it sucked - painfully slow in my area, especially at peak user times, and too much down time.

I've been using Sympatico DSL for almost 2 years with NO problems ( down time or slow speed ), but recently it goes down for hours at a time. I'm currently waiting for "3rd level technical assistance " to figure out the problem Anyone else have this problem. When it is "down", it "physically" connects fine, but I can't receive email or browse the net. It works for a few hours then is down again - it seems to be down weekday evenings mostly, but can stray from that pattern.

I am on Sympatico High Speed. I just recieved a notice saying they are increasingthe monthly rate to 54.95 ($10 increase) in Feb 2005. Starting to get expensive but roger is the same and will likely increase if bell does.

I cancelled my Symaptico last night... today some half asleep sounding guy called up asking me why I'm canceling and then offering me 4 months for $44.95. I declined.

4 months ago I got Rogers Extreme service where you have to pay first $99 for the modem that you then own...
I bought the 5 meg DOCSIS from Rogers store and I've been very happy with it since. I've clocked the FTP with a server in California at many different times of the day for the past 4 months and it's remained very constant and in spec of what they claimed the speeds should be.
5mbps down and upload rate of 760kbps. ... not to bad.
Best of all it's still only $44.95 for this service.

Anyone else have the Extreme service????? How do you rate it?

I'm curious as to the circumstances you received this notice. Was it by mail? Email? Phone call? I have Sympatico too, haven't heard anything.

I sent Rogers an invoice yesterday for solving their tech issues. *lol*

Savvis.net (Rogers' bandwidth provider) is trying to cram a mack truck's worth of bandwidth through a connection to level3 the size of a Gnat's ass. Farkin' tools. Anything coming through the conduit that's directed through Chicago is bound to experience delays. It seems they've cleared it on my end... finally.

At least they're pro-rating my account. Had to ream an asshole into them for it.

Do a tracer on whatever site you're having trouble logging into. If you see an asterisk in the info, that's a lost packet. The more ya see, the more info that's lost, hence, page time out's.

Rogers is driving me bonkers today every five minutes I keep getting the same e mails in over and over and over and over again. I called and was told they are having problems and in about 35 minutes it should be cleared up. What sort of problem could it be that they cannot realize I have recieved these e mails numerous times since 6:20 this morning. It is a whole new task to have to sit and delete all morining just to get an idea of what is going on. How can such a big company that charges more than most internet providers have so many problems always?

BTW try calling them now with thier new voice activated service. I find that annoying as well.

OK I got it out of my system after having said outlook express on thier voice activated service and having to hang up as it started taking me to television support and I wanted for my e mail.
