What with the Syrian situation heating up, thought I would bring up a practical side topic.
The only time it is really, really worth watching CNN is when there is a good war on tv. You know, they sometimes put on a really good show, top notch entertainment. Remember nose cone cameras in the missiles? Lots of ex military types analyzing strategy? Some reporter pretending to dodge incoming scud missiles? Cut aways to breathlessly important announcements from random politicians? So much fun to watch!
They always manage to make it exciting without actually showing you any people getting killed. Sometimes they even had comic relief like the Iraqi info guy.
It really is great tv. Especially if they can get the time zone thing squared and run the war during prime time.
Great night to sit home and watch tv. That and playoffs are the only times I am motivated to eat dinner in front of the television.
Wondering what others like to eat in front of the tv on nights when there's a good war on. Personally I think a take out burger and fries, with a big soda, captures the zeitgeist of watching a war on CNN.
Sports game maybe fits a pizza and wings, but to enjoy a good war I think you need a cheese burger.
