Lucy Pearl the brainchild of former Tony! Toni! Toné! member Raphael Saadiq, A Tribe Called Quest DJ and producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad and D'Angelo. However, D'Angelo backed out of the group due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced with Dawn Robinson (of En Vogue). They released their self-titled debut album Lucy Pearl in 2000. Straight forward R&B, no pretense. Enjoy...

I was visiting the city around that time and was told I just missed her...

Okay, I lied. I can't forget this classic titled Cafe Reggio, originally scored and performed by the late Issac Hayes for the first Shaft movie. The late jazz guitarist Zachary Breaux remade the song in 1997, prior to his death attempting to save a person from drowning...RIP
