We all have them. Not necessarily nightmares, but weird. Sometimes the problem is remembering them. I'm posting one from just last night, but if people want to share theirs this is a thread that could go on a long time. It could fun to hear the crazy stuff other people dream of. As much or as little detail as you like.

I'm at home and my SB comes over. She asks if a friend of hers can come also as she was having some troubles at her place. So they come over and her friend has a lot of luggage. So now they say that the friend was going to be staying with me. And then her friend's family was also coming along including children and kids in diapers. And to top it all off they had just come out of a mental institution. They were wacko and I couldn't talk sense to them. One of them was Tom Cruise (WTF) who was in pathetic shape mentally and taking a ton of meds. He was zoned out.

Immediately they began to lay waste to my place, moving things, breaking things, tearing things, dumping my medication. They tore off the bedding. I had no place to sleep. They were everywhere. They made so much noise my neighbours were complaining. They were damaging the hallways of my building.

Then the kids got out onto the street yelling and screaming and running down the middle of the street. Cars were blocked or had to swerve around them onto the sidewalk. A lady across the street was walking her newborn and it got killed when a car hit them. It was Armageddon , smoke was wafting up from the wreckages. Finally the cops came and cleared them out. In the aftermath my condo looked like a war zone and I'm distraught, wondering how am I going to be able to fix all this?

And that's when I woke up.

To my knowledge I have two types of dreams. I have my sleep entry dream which usually surrounds current experiences. Example: An erotic dream involving a stripper that I met recently. I can remember those but in deep sleep mode my dreams are different and can involve people in my present and past. An alarm usually bridges the gap where I recognize and remember the dream but then it fades quickly. I remember actually recognizing in my dream that I had the same dream before but now I can't remember any aspect of the dream itself.

I do know that the dreams are not horror and with the one exception I usually am simply amused by the fragments I remember when I wake up. The one exception is about a month after my father died, I was talking to him and looked into his eyes when I realized it wasn't him as he was dead. I remember that dream and it reminded me that he was dead and I would not see him again. That happened only once because if he is in any fragments I remember when I wake up - it was the same father I had while he was alive.

Dreams are your unconscious thoughts. Perhaps you have it in your mind but not being prioritised due to your current “busy thought process”.
I'm not sure what 'dreams are unconscious thoughts' means other that the experience of dreams themselves. (ie: of course you are not conscious when you experience them.)

Maybe it's my background but I tend to relate the brain to a computer. (AI was patterned from the brain). Maybe we need time each night for our brain to reorganize and reset all the days new information. Maybe as it does this reorganization of memories, part of our brain captures passing information which is interpreted as dreams. If the brain does not reorganize this (not sleeping), the information builds up to the point the brain can't function properly ie slows down, reasoning is slow.

I once had a dream that I was going to see a provider and didn't have the donation with me.

I also had one that was a sex dream about one lady I see that combined female ejaculation and body horror. Her entire lower body turned into a vagina and she ended up flooding the room then sinking into the floor.

Oddly enough, I've been having a few dreams about my childhood home recently as well.

Hell, I once had a dream about getting up to get ready for work!

I had a dream that I was on Mars with a group of people. What scientists say about the air on Mars being too thin to breathe is a lie. We were all breathing just fine.
Another dream was I was going on a trip to England. I had to leave for the airport right away but I had nothing packed and no British money. I didn't even have my suitcase out of the closet. I dug my suitcase out and threw a shirt and a pair of pants in, planning to buy everything else I needed, using my cards after I got there. No idea how I got to the airport.

The circumstances always change but I must have had at least 10 dreams where I'm packing in a frenzy at the last minute but I manage to finish in time. My fellow travellers and I get to the airport in reasonable time and it is then that I discover that I've forgotten my passport. And there is no way that I can get across the 401 home and back to Pearson.

I get your background. However AI is not to be compare with Brain.
Brian process based on your body chemicals, AI doesn’t. AI is like what you put in, you get results. Still open source. That the reason you re trying to create layer and layer ( machine learning to deep learning to what not) it is just human are trying to map the brain. Which neuro scientist claim. There were refinements which happens during conscious and unconscious brain processing.
IMLK, dreams are not what you go through your. Day to to life. Sometime dreams shows you future. You may never recognise unless you experience it. Like “déjà vuw@
Computers are are not human and this is what sci-fi movie try to make you believe otherwise.
Obviously the human brain utilises chemical reactions to generate electrical signals linking the neurons. A neural network is a method in artificial intelligence that teaches computers to process data in a way that is inspired by the human brain. AI learning is loosely based how the human brain works. (Ref : https://thedecisionlab.com/reference-guide/computer-science/neural-networks )

I have no medical or deep knowledge (IMLK if = In My Limited Knowledge), I just put a layman's guess on why sleep is necessary and used data storage as inspiration. Obviously dreams and the brain activity associated is part of the process, I'm conjecturing that the process is necessary and part of how the brain deals with information.

I don't believe dreams show you the future anymore than a Oujia board does. Deja view can be recognition or coincidence - not a mystical gift.

Anyways it's fun to speculate.

One of my recuring dreams is similar. I'm packing for a trip, but can't seem to get completely packed, there are way too many suitcases to pack, and there isn't enough time to get to the airport and make my flight.

Others:

I'm having a wild verbal super angry fight with my ex, and we're still living together even though we're divorced, and she refused to move out. (In actual fact since the divorce in Feb. 2020 we've been apart, and nothing but cordial.)

I have a date, but while I remember the apartment building she lives in I can't remember which unit.

I can't remember where I parked my car. I use my key fob to help me find it by pressing the lock button, but no matter where I look for the car, on the streets, in a parkade, or in a parking lot sometimes I hear the beep, but then as I get to closer to where I heard the beep there is no beep. I never find the car.

Nude at the office.

I walk into the exam room at university, open the exam booklet, and see all the questions are re: things I have never been taught.

I'm smoking again. (I quit over 35 years ago.)

I'm back home in Winnipeg with my parents, and feel I'm trapped and will never get back to Montreal or Toronto.

I have a car accident with significant damage to my car, or get stopped by the police for a moving violation.

The best thing about these dreams is when I wake up and realize they were only dreams!

Where the heck are my old favourite dreams about being with a beautiful girl and making out or having sex. Also where are the "I can fly" dreams I used to have?

Not exact but I am somewhere out in the boonies and when I get out of what I'm doing, my car is no longer there and nowhere to be found. I'm surrounded by a bunch of malicious hicks and at their mercy.

Nude at the office.
I am in somebody else's house and need to pee immediately, so I go in the corner of one of their rooms. The only shock is that I haven't peed my bed.

Are you sure that isn't what actually happened?

Trapped is an understatement. Do you go to Kelekis for a split dog?

re Kelekis - i was crazy for their fries & gravy

re: exam booklets - first year University I took calculus, chemistry, and physics. I was good in high school at physics and math, so I thought they would be easy too, but flunked out on the first year university science courses. Next year I switched to an economics major with a minor in psych, and did much better

I don't remember ever peeing in my bed, even when very young. But "one time at band camp", age 12, I was dreaming I was peeing, and when I woke up sure enough I had peed the upper bunk bed. Our junior counselor had the bottom bunk and he wasn't happy...

I remember the worst part of sexy dreams was waking up!

Two odd types of dreams that I have often.

One, is that Im driving and I suddenly can't open my eye..in them I'll just keep driving hopig not to hit or kill anyone. What's werid, is that I know where I am, despite eyes being stuck shut. Ill know I just passed through a red light, or a cop with a car pulled over, or a familiar building.

The other dreams I have too often, are that I recently murdered someone...sometimes for money or as an assignment...other times I dont really know my motive. I always have one or two other friends involved in the dream, and we have hidden the body and are trying to keep the murder a secret.

Love it.

I have another recurring one where I'm trying to run away from something/someone but my legs are moving incredibly slow and I can't speed them up.

I know its like I have more adventure in my dreams than real life. 😂 The other night I dreamed of one of my uncles that has passed years ago, and he was talking to me.
