What's the sugar content on them ice cream? i love ice cream but very weary of sugar content. i'm not diabetic...
I did a quick google search and it says that a single serving should have about 6-8 grams of sugar 😊

Same as any potato. Cool it first and reheat to turn it into a resistant carbohydrate. Same with rice. It's an east hack with great benefits.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news as thread got me believing this was an amazing idea but I looked it up and it is not. It is a tweak

When pasta is cooked and then cooled (especially for 24 hours or more), a process called starch retrogradation occurs. This transforms some of the digestible starches into resistant starch

Yields fewer calories
(about 2.5 calories per gram vs. 4 calories per gram for regular starch)

This doesn’t make pasta a “low-calorie” food — it just makes it slightly less caloric and metabolically gentler than freshly cooked pasta.

Reality check : It’s a tweak, but not a magic bullet.

I like the idea of Konjac spaghetti so I tried it. Konjac does not have the consistently of wheat spaghetti so I mix it which reduces calories by half.

Also mix with spaghettified zucchini

Create a substitue for tomato sauce .

nutritional yeast instead of cheese sounds intriquing

What's wrong with mash potato if no butter? I thought potato was ok (if boiled) or is white potato an absolute no no for weight loss/ carb deficit foods
White potatoes on their own are perfectly fine; skip the butter if you want to cut fat and extra calories. They’re filling, a solid source of carbs, and can absolutely fit into a balanced diet. At the end of the day, weight loss or gain boils down to one thing: calories in versus calories out. Stay under your maintenance calories and you’ll lose weight; go over and you’ll gain. It doesn’t matter if those calories come from potatoes, rice, or donuts; the principle still applies. The difference is that whole foods like potatoes keep you fuller and fuel you better than junk, which makes sticking to your plan a whole lot easier.

Substitute for tomato sauce to reduce calories

Anyone got ideas ?

  • Mix garlic, and fresh herbs like parsley or thyme with lemon juice or olive oil
Mushroom soup or watered down tomato sauce thickened with Konjac flour, also known as glucomannan powder which has 0 calories but has fibre to make you feel full

Pesto

Pumpkin puree with cinamon and broth
Carrot puree

Chai seed pudding

Chia seeds are full of nutrients and fibre that take away hunger

Tiny seeds absorb liquid to become pudding

Use whole seeds as ground seeds will not absorb

Easy peasy

Using dietary fibre to stop hunger is better as chia is calolrie dense, dietary fibre has zero calories

Chia seeds are calorie dense
  • High in fiber: Keeps you full longer and helps regulate blood sugar.
  • Rich in omega-3s: Supports heart health and reduces inflammation.
  • Good protein source: Helps preserve muscle while losing fat.
Just be mindful of portion sizes — while nutrient-dense, chia seeds are calorie-dense too.

Fasting can lose weight. As carbs are depleted body goes into ketosis where body burns fat
Cardio in a fasted state in the morning (preferably) and then Intm Fasting/Time-restricted eating. Don't eat until 3/4pm or later once you get better at it.

Remember to keep water/electrolyte intake up.1 Coffee during day (stop caffeine around 12/1pm). Drink 2.0+ Litres of water during the day.

Make sure you get enough protein when you break your fast. And don't eat too fast (my vice) and try to take your time with the food. I typically eat a larger mel around 4:30-6pm and then a greek yogurt+blueberries+honey (or avocado/cottage cheese) around 7:30-8pm and then I'm DONE.

STOP SNACKING LATE. It's the worst.

This is pretty easy for me LOL grilled nuggets from chic fil a or egg white bites from Starbucks.

I wish McDonalds would bring their egg white delight McMuffins to Canada 😀

I add the CFA grilled nuggets to a side salad and mix with their spicy siracha sauce.

Shawarma. Beef with hummus and tahini (all lean protein), tomatoes, pickled stuff (probiotics) etc. Low, but enough, carbs, and lots of protein to help reduce insulin spiking and glycemic response. Ask to cut and wrap it separately. Half, eaten slowly and chewed well is plenty filling! Hot sauce also slows down chowing it down too fast!

Water, not sugar drinks. Maybe that sour kefir drink if you can stomach it. Has good probiotics that help with gut health and even weight loss.

Eat half and have the other half for dinner or if you can get it in the fridge reasonably quickly, have it for lunch the next day. It will keep safely for 2 days if refrigerated. Re-heat on a frying pan or in the microwaveif you like. I like it as a cool, refreshing wrap as much as I do hot.

easy at less than $15

I go to loblaws and get a green box of spinach then add can of tuna and buy a couple of kiwi
i do that all the time or variation of

get garden salad at subway with canned tuna instead of their tuna goo

get shwarma and do not eat calorie dense wrap with no garlic paste goo

go to one of those places with bins of food and get some nuts and fruit

i carry canned tuna in car with a fork

one of those cooked chickens are $10 is you want some protien

eat healthy and cheap is a challenge with food price inflation but healthy is actually cheaper as it is the processed foods that are more expensive and unhealthy

Golden rule: DO NOT eat after 7PM. No exceptions. Go to bed with a bit of hunger. You'll feel great in the morning and your stomach will have shrunk a bit. You can then build on it and and eat even less the following day. It all comes down to will power and discipline. Build up some healthy habits. Everyone slips and you just have to get back into the healthy routine. Pound water and try to do some form of exercise every day. It's all easier said than done.

I do not agree with that. What matters is the amount of calories not when you eat, if you eat at night you will not be hungry next morning

They’re nutritious too but would any of you be open to try intermittent fasting and a low blood sugar index diet? If you own an air fryer I can guide you and help you out if you like.

The first 2 days will be tough. But day 3 will be easy and then moving forward I promise.
Plus I’m a really good nutritionist and trainer.
And I even train people for competition (but that takes a little more time).

if you can, get your hands on some ozone water(healthy planet), lime/lemon juice (to make the body more alkaline), and some ginger, L-Citruline powder, and turmeric (for cleansing, vascularity, and reducing inflammation).

Vitamin D 2400iu + Omega 3 + Berberine + Ashwaganda (for brain gut health).

Magnesium + Potassium for healing and rest.
