For that money I'd rather not get a knock off. I've never felt that strongly about high end brands except for when it comes to home theatre/audiophile equipment or electric quitars or dj equipment.

Is there such a thing as a classy, stylish digital watch? If so... examples/links?
I'd hate to "trade up" to a nicer looking watch and lose the functionality of a digital. Yes, I actually do use the stopwatch/timer/alarm on a fairly regular basis. (and not just when hobbying...

Just did a bit of browsing... I quite like the look of some of the Casio Wave Ceptor watches... plus the Atomic Timekeeping and Time Calibration is just a cool idea.

I stopped wearing one about 6 months ago after the band broke on my everyday watch. At first it felt weird and I was planning to get the band fixed but everyday I let that chore slip the less I missed wearing a watch. Now I just have a few fancier models I wear on occasion.

I've never bought one but had one given to me as a gift and it was certainly not up to standard. The gifter hadn't realized I had other fine timepices to compare them to and was embarrassed when I friend told him I knew it wasn't the brand name. When the finish started to flack ans the band started to go sometime down the road, it was clear that you get what you pay for. I have a battery powered $30 throw away for dirty work, a solar powered sport watch for water sport and outdoor activities and such and a few very nice self winding watches for the rest of the time, all analog. I don't like digital. It's an accessary that has function as well.
Omega Railmaster is my favorite and my first high end watch purchase. Recently I came into possession of a gold (watch and band) '60's Omega and it is stylin for a night out. I did buy a Gruen Veri Thin from the '50's it has a cool curved crystal.

Those are really, really cheap fakes. If you can't afford the real thing, then get a good, no name watch at the same price.
if you value your watch so little that you take it off at an outcall, you probably need to get a better watch anyway

I have to say I love watches I own about 8 of them, lately ive been buying the citizen eco drives they charge by sun or artificial light its been going strong for about 7 years no battery required because it has a rechargeable one inside. Im surprised that it still holds a charge after that long.
